tekpir8
Okay, this is the second time I've installed fresh and had this issue. I'm running on a D620 with IntelGMA, CoreDuo, Cisco Aironet PCMCIA (Atheros), custom OSX A10 BIOS. Steps: Boot from D620SLV1 Swap 10.6 install DVD Begin install and uncheck all optional components First boot install Chameleon RC5 Install EDP 1.9.2 (everything works at this point) Update with Combo 10.6.8 Reboot and get KP as follows "Failed to load kext com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (error 0xdc008016)" "Couldn't alloc class AppleACPIPlatformExpert" "panic(cpu 0 caller 0x563ebd): Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1504.15.3/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1387" I don't know how much of the above is relevant or useful... I'm a n00b! I've tried single user mode and safe mode with no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 14, 2011 Administrators Share Posted December 14, 2011 try booting with pmVersion=0 -v -x
tekpir8
Okay, I'll try that and post my results. The laptop is at work so will wait until tomorrow. I did also try platform=x86pc and cpus=1 along with the usual -v and -x with no luck. Thanks!
tekpir8
Still getting a KP with the same error. Failed to load kext... AppleACPIPlatform (error 0xdc008016) Is there something I'm missing when applying the EDP like copying some "Extra" folder and chmod perms? Do I need to load the EDP after I update to 10.6.8? Thanks!!
Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 14, 2011 Administrators Share Posted December 14, 2011 well edp should generate extra for you... if you installed the pkg then ran edptool.command inside extra and build for your model.
tekpir8
Yup, ran it and selected D620 with Intel. So it should work loading before the update?
tekpir8
I'm gonna reinstall 10.6, update to 10.6.8, and try EDP again.
tekpir8
Could it, in any way, be my version of Chameleon? I'm using 2.0RC5
Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 14, 2011 Administrators Share Posted December 14, 2011 yes it can be if your using latest edp... com.apple.boot.plist edp uses org.chameleon.Boot.plist now. so a sv1 revision is requiered... edp should have an option to install it
tekpir8
Okay, I was able to reinstall 10.6 over top and retained all previous settings/kexts. I've installed the new Chameleon from the Wizard. Any settings to tweak before updating to 10.6.8? Thanks for all your help!
