walter1991
I have found this topic to be very helpfull, thank you for that! I have follow the D630 guide to create an installer and installed sierra succesfully, i did use the "Extra" folder that griftopia posted. I have almost fixed all issues exept for the fact that the CPU is running on one core. About this mac displays that i am running a core 2 solo, and the total amount of cores is 1, how did you fix this? MBP version is 7,1 CPU is a T9800, (will be upgrading to a X9100) 4GB of RAM NVS 160M
griftopia
Hi Herve, Can you please clarify if these two go hand in hand and is necessary to do the second fix for the e6400 and e6500? Not sure it applies like it did for D630. GPU performance tuning has been injected into FakeSMC kext and no longer requires additional action at this stage Disable hibernation (can be done later, but should be done): open up Terminal and type the following commands sudo pmset hibernatemode 0 sudo pmset hibernatefile /dev/null sudo rm -f /var/vm/sleepimage Needless to say, the FakeSMC patch should be against Vendor 10de and Device 06eb for the Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M. Administrators Hervé Posted August 5, 2017 Administrators Share Posted August 5, 2017 They are 2 separate things with no relation between them. Whether you proceed or not is entirely up to you.
griftopia
Okay I have now done both FakeSMC patch and also set hibernatemode off. So far so good. Laptop seems very stable with 10.12.6.
