  1. Not working... Kext fails to load due to dependency error!! I guess all the mixing of different versions broke something.
  2. @sontrg: That last kext (2014-0219) broke the keyboard. It no longer works. Thanks for all your work, and good luck. Looking forward to beta test the big rewrite
  3. Wouldn't it be easier to just rewrite the core driver using the Linux 3.13 code instead of having to separate old and new code?! I'm not a dev so I don't know how much work that would be
  4. @sontrg: I think Florin9doi did release the sources sometime ago (in a zipped folder on some other forum), but I'm not sure... There have been too many projects to fix ALPS touchpads that I no longer know who did what. Never mind anyway. The current driver works very well thanks to you and Bpedman. You're definitely going in the right direction -------------- And yes, the both RehabMan's and Bpedman's drivers worked sometime ago. After trying RehabMan's latest version though I get the same error as Tiago Bueno. Could you please merge with RehabMan's latest code + commit the change that fixed the driver not being initialised on v5... Thanks in advance PS. Would be nice if you could also update the base to Linux 3.13 http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/drivers/input/mouse/alps.c
  5. I too have a Dell N5110. The kext in that insanelymac thread you posted is very old (v1.7.5) and has already been merged into Rehabman's code sometime ago!! PS. Strange thing is, I used rehabman's kext a long time ago and it worked perfectly. With his latest version I get the same error as Tiago Bueno. He must have changed something!!! PPS. With that kext you just posted (2014-0218), it works fine!!! The FN keys mapping is messed up and breakless (single press keeps firing forever) (can be fixed using this https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/commit/1de13c800b53a30d4366082122953e6d093e90f8 )
  6. What SMBIOS definition are you using? You should be using a haswell macbook air/pro. Does your laptop have a resolution above 1366x768? That requires DualLink injection. In any case, try injecting ig-platform-id: 0x0600260a via DSDT and boot with GE=No If you don't know how to, please upload your DSDT and ioreg and I'll patch it for you.
  7. Might be because of the nvidia card. Try using "SkipNvidiaGfx=Yes" while booting. If not, then reinstall OS X.
  8. I wanna add that although setting z-finger to maximum makes the pointer movements very accurate, it occasionally causes the physical (right) button to keep firing spontaneously ie. keep opening context menu on the screen without pressing the physical button. I work around that by simply clicking the right button once or twice and everything gets back to normal. I think z-finger setting thru the prefpane increases the sensitivity of the physical button too much. Not sure if the problem is with the prefpane or the driver. Thanks for all your work, bpedman
  9. I'm really looking forward to bpedman updating the kext with this finger z fix and inverted side scroll direction. I'm currently running finger z set to max and stabilise tapping checked. The Track pad is working beautifully. A LOT BETTER than in windows. Much smoother PS. Are the synaptics prefpane settings persistent across reboots. I have to re-set finger z and stabilise tapping on every boot.
  10. Woohoo, works perfectly now. Thanks
  11. I just updated from v5 to v7 and IT FINALLY WORKS. I'm using a Dell Inspiron n5110 I have the same bugs mentioned by "specific" in earlier posts. Another bug is that too finger touch for secondary click is too strict making it difficult to use. It requires the fingers to press at exactly the same time or else the pointer just jumps. Thank you very much EDIT: After using this for a few days, I found that the most annoying bug is that the pointer jumps a few pixels when I lift my finger off the trackpad. For example, when I move the pointer to the x button to close a window, then lift my finger to tap (click) the pointer jumps a few CMs away so the click happens on the wrong object on the screen.
  12. I tied v5 on my dell n5110 with an ALPS and it partially works. Touchpad works, prefpane loads, but no multitouch whatsoever. Before this, I was using a driver made by florin9doi which worked with multitouch but was too sensitive and the pointer kept jerking on the screen by merely touching the trackpad, even without moving my finger. He gave up on the driver but released sources. It'll probably be of some help getting older APLS working. https://mega.co.nz/#!XYhDmajQ!DsgiLw9SdVTa1RpeGag8sD61DGp6S_UwkwLY7BF6D3M Good Luck and hope to hear some good news soon
