  1. To Jake Lo below I wasn't talking boot disks here, just data disks. My data disks with HSF+ work fine. But I can't reply anymore cuz the thread is already moved to the archive... /dev/disk5 (external, virtual): #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: Apple_HFS Data +499.4 GB disk5 Logical Volume on disk4s2 UUID-snipped Unlocked Encrypted
  2. I've attached IOReg, hopefully I saved it correctly.
  3. Sorry, I thought I already updated my signature to include them. Fixed it now
  4. No longer relevant as I bought a new cpu which should sort this issue out.
  5. Thanks! The card comes with some pig tails so that should be ok. Don't care much for Bluetooth, that will work with the DW380 card, only use it for keyboard and mouse not airdrop etc. So I should be good. Not being on ac is really noticeable compared to my other laptops.
  6. Seems the "cheapest" way to get decent bluetooth/ac-wireless combo in macOS is the DW1820A, all the other costs like 2-3 times as much. But does it work in those M.2 NGFF adapters? Has anyone tried? The adapter + DW1820A are under 15 euro in total, a good deal if it works.
  7. Buy one that one of the forum mods and admins personally own, that way you can be sure the guides and bootpacks work without you having to do too much work I picked up a pair of E6330 but only because I could get them for around 75 euro a piece. They work great but need al little more work to get everything going, which the mods/admins have helped me achieve but don't expect them to do the work for you.
  8. The Drop OEM option seems to have sorted the brightness. No idea how I ended up with 2 NVRAM drivers haha. I removed one of them. On top of that hot-plugging e-sata now works again too. I would've never figured out to patch AppleAHCIPort to fix that, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Thank you so much The side switch is not an issue really. Was trying to get every single component to work in macOS. I had to disable the external drive icon fix cuz it would show a network mounted icon instead of external disk icon. Now it shows the normal removable disk icon for caddy/e-sata instead of the internal icon but thats not a big deal. Both cosmetic and I prefer this over the network mount icon Thanks again! PS: totally unrelated but could it be Cloudflare thats messing up the forums javascript somewhere that prevents me from removing old attachments? I tried different browsers and platforms, even tried over mobile data without any ad-blockers and still can't remove attachments somehow.
  9. Try declaring it as external. On my Dell if I declare the Bluetooth as internal it stops working.
  10. My E6330 is near perfect apart from some minor niggles. Would love to get some input in how to fix them. - Brightness is somehow not remembered (seems to reset itself on boot somewhere). - E-sata and optical bay hot plug isn't working properly. Ejecting works ok but sometimes it hangs when rebooting after ejecting, connecting them to a running system doesn't work at all. This worked on my Mojave install but I can't seem to track down what it is that made it work there. - Side switch doesn't turn wifi and bluetooth off. It disconnects both but leaves the devices themselves on. When enabling them again with the switch only bluetooth devices get connected automatically. I have to connect to the wifi again manually. Turning either or both on/off manually works as expected. Thats pretty much it! I'm attaching the debug logs. Any other improvements, fixes or efficiency gain that I could apply are also very welcomed. I'm striving for the best possible setup Thank you! FWIW my dsdt has the following patches applied: - Fix _WAK Arg0 v2 - HPET Fix - SMBUS Fix - IRQ Fix - RTC Fix - OS Check Fixes - Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel - 7-series/8-series USB - Brightness fix HD3000/HD4000 debug_15508.zip
  11. I was running the RM version from the .zip in first post. Installed the latest from SF which fixed not being able to boot. Updating to .2 and .3 went without any issue or changes needed. Guess I was lucky lol. Thankfully the fix was easy. This laptop has seen daily usage for nearly 6 months now. Running as smoothly as my macbooks. Very content with it.
  12. I can’t get .4 to install. Either update or clean. I have updated all kexts on the installer like AppleALC, WhateverGreen and Lilu. No updates for the others exist. The installer boots but never makes it to the gui. After a long wait it says kextd stall for AppleACPICPU. Update: installing the latest Clover fixed it!
  13. I have updated my install to 10.14.2. Well to be fair, I forgot to disable auto updates and macOS did it. No issues to report. I'm confident creating an installer using the 10.14.2 app will ok. I'm happy this thread has helped some people get macOS up and running. Mine is still running smoothly. Using it daily. One of my few wishes is to hack some support for the stupid Intel Turbo memory card that was in there. Would be nice to use that 1GB for swap.
  14. I didn't upgrade to Mojave. It's a clean install. No such kexts are needed. You might run into problems due to high-res screen and maybe not an Intel card? As for the time left, even on my MacBooks that always takes ages. Or right after install when connecting to a wifi om the first boot setup, that also takes ages on my MacBook and iMac. What are you laptop specs?
  15. After some trial and error I found out it was caused by an for macOS inaccessible Linux disk in the optical bay, removing it and sleep is entered fast again
  16. Testing the new zip a few times, everything works. Entering sleep seems to take longer than before. Lot of disk activity. It does enter sleep fine and wakes up fine. Not sure if its writing the full ram to disk or something else. Its the same regardless of DSDT I use. Must be something in the config/kexts? Above my pay grade haha.
  17. Ohh, I feel stupid now! Mixing up BT and wifi.. Thanks for clarifying. Update: After more reading I'm going to make a new zip file where Clover only loads the bare essentials to boot into the installer and install. The rest will go in /L/E. It is much better to have it in kextcache amongst other things. Update2: Patched the DTSD of the A21 bios. Applied the following patches: - Fix _WAK Arg0 v2 - HPET Fix - SMBUS Fix - IRQ Fix - RTC Fix - OS Check Fixes - Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel - 7-series/8-series USB Everything seems to work well. Not sure if I forgot anything... DSDT.aml.zip
  18. Thanks! I already use the CCC app to edit the config, it's much more convenient. I'm doing some testing now, if I remove the "slide=0" boot flag the system doesn't boot anymore. Removing kext dev mode and 64bit flag are fine. I've also updated WEG and Lilu to the latest versions, 1.2.6 and 1.31. Also added FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext. So far everything works fine. Don't notice any difference in regards to jack or usb3, but I prefer to do things the right way. I'm not an expert, just an enthusiast What is the preferred way of making non-rebranded Broadcom WiFi cards work? Right now I'm using BrcmPatchRAM2.kext in /L/E, is it better to use FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext in Clover? I can't really test it cuz I rebranded my cards... Personally I lean towards removing the /L/E kexts and using FakePCID kexts as this can be done without modifying the system itself. Did some reading, apparently the preferred way is to copy all kexts to /L/E. I will figure out which ones aren't needed to boot the machine and copy those.
  19. I'm not that well versed in this matter, doing my best to keep up but I have no idea what you meant by that. <key>FIX_DARWIN_10000</key> <true/> You mean adding that to the clover config? Tonight I will dump the ACPI tables again and patch the A21 bios from scratch and also fix the config and update the kexts. Will test it and update my post if it works ok. Thanks again!
  20. Thanks for the feedback! I grabbed all the kexts from the official repo's. Thought they were the latest. I will remove those extra kexts, I'd like to stay as close to vanilla as possible so very appreciative of your input. I don't know about the CPU PM stuff, I will have a look at my config and the one you posted. I haven't had any real issues with this setup though. Will also look into those extra kexts you mentioned. I thought I had it all complete but I guess I missed some resources about the usb multiplexing and CodecCommander. The jack out works as is audio of HDMI. So not too sure what benefits they will have. As for the bios, I updated mine to the latest and nothing changed. My graphics are only messed up on reboots and shutting down the system. I can totally live with that but will make a new DTSD from scratch like I tried before, this time applying the right usb 3 patches so all ports work, haha.
