Support for old Tesla cards stopped at High Sierra. No drivers were provided in subsequent macOS versions. The patch was a pretty easy thing in Mojave and early versions of Catalina up to 10.15.3. From 10.15.4, Apple changed things and the patch required to adjust/change many additional things (to cover for issues such as AMFI). See my (old) D630 guide for instance.

Hi Hervé and thank you very much for your quick and detailed response.

Yes, I also tried to install on Catalina 10.15.3, using Chris1111's Legacy video patcher.  No success. Even if SIP is disabled, it goes into an endless loop on the first boot like "SIP is disabled. Allow dump for pid 25x...." and so on.
It's frustrating. I don't know if it's my motherboard that's the problem or the "knock-off" video card but it's an MSI not a Chinese manufacturer.

From 10.15.4 onwards, you'll need to use special patching tools such as dosdude1's Catalina patcher. You need the Tesla patch and the boot arg amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1 to bypass AppleMobileFileIIntegrity (AMFI) to be able to boot Catalina 10.15.4 and subsequent 10.15 updates.

I will try also this method and let you know.

If your system can run Catalina, you might just go for Big Sur or Monterey and apply the OCLP Tesla patch, that'd probably be better and easier; unless you absolutely need to run old and abandoned Catalina of course.

Yes I think to but I am not much experti in OC. Could you be so kindly and gently to help me to prepare a config.plist for try install Big Sur? The need it's to execute a DAW software.

My specs are: gigabyte z77-d3h, 12GB DDR3 at 1600Mhz, CPU i7-2600K, MSI Geforce G210 1 Gb. Thank you so much for your kindly help.

  2. I have tried to install this video card on Catalina 10.15.7 but with no success there are some patch to apply on the web but none works on my configuration. The strange fact is that on Mojave all works as well. There is some suggest? I have tried both clover and opencore but all end in kernel panic or infinite boot with refuse from amfi. I have disable Sip through any possible way. Please help me

  3. It seems it works. I don't wanna sing victory....it takes 3 second when end boot but both display works. The nice thing is that if I power on one monitor it show one monitor in the monitor config panel, and in the moment I power on the other it display two monitors and two monitor are power on. I will tell you more the next days, for now  I tell you thanks a lot for your precious support.😃

  4. Both display are full HD so their Max resolution is 1920 * 1080. There is no adapter between the cables and monitors. They are connected One with HDMI to HDMI and other with displayport to displayport. Sometimes boot screen fails with boot display that became  Black.Of course if I try  i cannot connect with remote connection such anydesk, 'cause anydesk screen is black too.

  5. @Jake Lo Bang! it worked! Thank you very much! I hope one day to return the favor! Thanks again Jake!

@Hervé Hi I tried to follow your guide but with no luck, I probably made a mistake or I missed something. I'm a bit rusty! I was better when Clover came out. Yes, the 7040 is basically the same machine with more RAM management. At least what I remember. Anyway I love this forum. it is very well structured. Thanks for your interest. We will see soon around here😁

  6.

Ok Jake, attached under the 3 Ioreg made with version 2.1. Each with only one connected display. The strange thing is that when I connect the monitor to DP2 there is no output on the screen and

connection with remote app like Anydesk, reports the monitor as integrated, Apple monitor, the system is reported by SMBIOS as IMac 17.1.

Now in my efi folder there is a Config.plist file inside the archive.

I hope everything is okay and can help for me. Thanks a lot.

  7. Hello everyone. I apologize if I post a thread that surely finds thousands of answers but I really need your help. I own the pc described with Big-Sur installed. I can't get 2 monitors to work together. Either one goes to hdmi port or the other to Displayport. I tried looking at the guide for port and frame buffer patching. But I didn't understand much about it. All in all, when I modify the config.plist, any entry even one, I get the annoying OC error: 0 failed to load driver (something like that) at startup.

Is there any good soul here who can help me understand or modify the config.plist to make my 2 monitors work together again? I share the efi.zip file in the meantime. A thousand thanks. (Modificato)Ripristina originale
