Hi, I tried to remember on how to install the Bios bin file without a win partition running.... By the way I have crosschecked the speedstep with ML. That woorked well. So I wunder why it is not working with Mav. I have tested a few diffrent settings in chameleonwiz like generate p and c stated (on / off) and enable c2 and c3, c4 states. No change. Which fakesmc is the one where you can confirm thjat speedstep is working well? regards madmax

Hi Hervé, yeah its strange I am certainly doing something wrong.. I have updated the fakesmc.kext to 5.1 (01330F00 0008) and the chameleon smbios to 5.1 as well. HW Monitor shows on both cores 598 MHz each. Static. The Notebook seems to be fairly fast. itunes does not play back itunes HD content. Like Das Boot. Test with AVATAR HD showed that it does not play back with VLC (Latest Version) either. Can I provide you with details to help me getting itunes HD playback working and cpu speedstep as well? Hi, I finally canned my Maverix OS HDD. I like to repair my Install by booting from my spare Maverix install that I use as a security me sure in case I can not boot my drive. Now my question? How do I launch EDP from the reserve HDD to install it on my Mavericks HDD? The reserve install is connected via USB with my notebook. Please advise Madmax

Hi, MMMh. OK I understand.... OK Then I will go to 5.1 instead. Then the main issue for me is, that I can not get itunes HD videoplayback working. It gives me (only on HD) the message that my laptop display is not supported. Which is from the technical point of view not korrect as I can get playback on 3.1. and 4.1. Is there a workarount on 5.1 fakesmc? Please advise. madmax

Hi again, I have the feeling that the speedstep feature does not work. On HW Monitor I have either 597Mhz on both cores or 797 MHz on both. I did not observe that these frequencies change. I am changing verious versions of fakesmc with 5.1 setting and 4.1 smb with chameleon wiz. With this combination I can whatch HD itunes Videos (purchased ones). Can some one help to get speedstepping working? Madmax

Hi, i have fixed my playback HD content issue. It was potentionally caused by the setting Macbook pro 5.1 in chameleon. I changed it back to 4.1 (leaving the fake smc on 5.1. Now I have the question about the chameleon setting. Does it matter which model chameleon is set to? And In case that it matters what schould be the setting? Do the fakesmc and the chameleon both have to have the same model in? Please advise madmax

Hi, I am still working on the treaking of the fakesmc. I have now the 5.1 config on the fakesmc and chameleon setting. The Notebook is realls fast now. But.. I found that the Video playback does not work. I receive a message that the monitor is not supported. This movie (HD content) can only be played back with a monitor that supports HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). With 3.1 or 4.1 the playback of the same content (Das Boot HD) playsback fine. What am I missing? Madmax

Hi Herve I kept the old dsdt file. So I changeant only the Chamäleon boot file and the smbios file together with the fake. Any attempt to just delete the obsolete kext resulted in a kernel panic. I ll keep testing Madmax

Hi Herve´ I have the black screen issue that I had in the past with your DSDT aml. Unfortunately I can not change the quadro to parent using the chameleon wizard method. The compilation from dsl to aml does not work for me.. Can you maybe change that Please? Thanks. Once my system generally boots fine I will try to remove the kext files as you suggested. Thanks. Hi Hervé I have downloaded the fakesmb from the vostro threat. I have modified it reflecting the version 5.1. (as discribed in the article. I have changed the chameleonsettings ( to 5.1) after I replaced the file. Then I had run Myhack (fix full) to repair permissions. The system did not boot, got stuck so I had to change the fakesmb file back and booted with ignore cache variant. Maybe I have wron settings in the org.chameleon.boot... regards, Madmax

One thing that I noticed no is, that my laptops display can not display HD itunes (origin al HD purchased) movies. How can I fix this? madmax

Hi, It seems to work. I have updated the MyHack version (previous 3.2b8. Now 3.3) and recreated the Install USB stick with Maverics. I did not copy the bootpack but used the generic one. Maverics installed well. It did even reboot at the end of the install process. The new Maverics HDD (brand new HTE541515A9E630 1,5 TB) booted OK and I could go thru the steps to finalize the installation. I have downloaded the latest SDP and ran the installer. EDP called again to download a whatever command thing (sorry) from apple. After that (apple software) finished EDP did not open. I needed to install EDP again ontop of the first one. Then I could obsereve that more files were installed. EDP could then open and I choose the Brand and Model of my notebook and hit "do build". The process starts but at the end it freezes the Notebook. I had to hardreset the notebook with the powerbutton. After it booted it shows that all nessecary kext were installt ethernet, Audio, Microphone, is there. Wifi is there as I have a apple branded card. Sleep works as well. I will check out, if I have DVD support, later today. That was a problem that I had in the past. I ll keep you updated. Madmax
