Thank you very much for developing this kext. I had tried version 2.1 final, 2.7.5, and 2.6 to no avail. On 2.7.5 and 2.6, nothing works, one 2.1 final, the keyboard works. I unfortunately don't have a mouse to work with to access the console for a proper troubleshooting report. This is using OSX 10.8.2 on a Dell Inspiron 5720(15R SE). Thank you once again.

is it just me or is my D620 kind of slower in performance when running Lion vs. Snow Leopard? I'm just wondering if it's just a matter of configuring it differently or what or if this slowness is pretty much par for course and if there's a non-performance related incentive that convinces users to prefer Lion over Snow Leopard. I just really hate how much larger Snow Leopard's installer is compared to Lion's. Thanks!

Oh, I'd be perfectly fine without any sort of scrolling feature. I don't get fancy with mice. Thanks for your help!

has PCMCIA been fixed on the D620 since OSX 10.7.0? I would really love to have my firewire card on this working without having to upgrade to a D630. Thanks!

that's great that you got full qe/ci working with your GMA950. One thing of note for people who have used leppy700's cd image and trying to use EDP over it: that won't work unless you remove the Extras folder created by leppy700. The following worked for me: 1) boot using the leppy700 boot cd/usb flash stick 2) remove Extras folder 3) run EDP package to your specifications and then voila, I was good to go.

anyone else notice that the trackpad for the d620 behaves a bit erratically in Lion? Or is there a kext that can help resolve this issue? Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any luck in getting the pointing stick to work on their Latitude. I have a D620 and find it a lot more useful than the trackpad. I tried looking around for information on this to no avail, but perhaps I'm not looking in the right places, considering how niche this is. Thanks!

Hello, After having setup a couple hackintoshes in the past, I imagined that this laptop, being equipped with a supported Intel Core i5 cpu would be a breeze. Unfortunately, I've found out that HP's latest offerings are plagued with issues related to "lapic.c." As to what that means, I can only guess. But it's been addressed at least here on projectosx regarding HP Insyde Bios' need for a cpus=1 flag, which in turn links to the voodooprojects site with meklort's fix for Snow Leopard 10.6.0, here on Mammoth's insanelymac topic, and here on extraspeed's blog. So after having read up on this issue, i got a couple files that would resolve this issue with my Lion 10.7.0 install. I proceeded as follows: 1. Setup USB installer with myHack 2.0RC4 with the Generic Extras folder 2. created an /Extra/KPKexts folder, wherein I placed one of the files LAPICFix.kext 3. added the file KernelPatcher.dylib into /Extra/modules 4. applied myFix onto the USB drive for good measure 5. booted with these flags: "UseKernelCache=y arch=i386 -v" (I also tried not entering arch=i386 since it's already included in org.chameleon.boot.plist) Upon which, the following occurred: and (N.B. I don't know how to resize these photos directly from my phone after the fact, but copying and pasting the image url will show jpgs in their glorious entirety) I was wondering what steps I might be able to take to correct this. I'm hoping that it's simply a matter of me having misread the instructions on how to do this instead of something else. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Really. Hi, I'm from Los Angeles, CA but have been living in Portland, OR the past 3 years. I've used a hackintosh since 2008 when I set one up for my sister who needed an affordable way to keep up with her film editing class and needed final cut pro. This was back in 2008 and I have set up a couple other ones for friends who were committed to using Logic Pro for recording their band. I have since then developed an interest in the apple platform myself and have tried ways to incorporate it more and my multimedia tinkerings. I have moderate level of technical experience with osx and windows 7 and can catch on pretty easily if explicit and clear directions are given. I've taken one c++ class and enjoyed it. However, this was ten years ago and I haven't done much in the way of programming since. That said, I can contribute to the forum by being an active member of this as of now manageably tight community and sharing what I have accumulated over the last 3 years of using a hackintosh.

Thanks! I'll try that out. On another note, my friend's d620 prompts him with a "Before you begin" dialogue which doesn't allow him to use his computer. But i already tried plugging in a USB keyboard to no avail. On my d620, I only got past it by using a USB keyboard, which I don't have access to at the moment. At any rate, I heard rumors about a workaround for this involving modifying some lines on a plist. Unfortunately, nano doesn't work. PPS., I also realized that the only way to get qe/ci, my trackpad, and keyboard working would be to manually type in "arch=i386" at the chameleon selection screen, even though I'm using the org.chameleon.boot.plist which already has the key and string for it. Thanks, again! EDIT: I found out that to disable the "before you begin" dialogue, I would simply need to follow these steps: Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup Assistant.app/Contents/ in the Lion install partition and open the Info.plist. Search and delete two strings <string>DeviceSelection</string> and <string>KeyboardTypeSelection</string>. Save the Info.plist. I'd still appreciate any help on the weird chameleon issues I'm having. Another thing is that the screen brightness seems to be quite a bit dimmer when loading Lion than on Snow Leopard. That is, I can adjust the brightness but the maximum brightness level isn't what I'm used to in SL. Thanks!
