  1. have you shut off com ports, printer port, modem, floppy controller if you have em in bios? seems like your irq for usb gets reset and allocated to something else.

I did but i still have the same issue and when my computer wakes it beeps until i press a key (acts like my keys are stuck). i change this line in my .plist<string>busratio=21 cpus=2 arch=i386 pmVersion=23</string> the 23 was a 21 instead ....is that the correct way to do it.

  2. boot with -v to see whats causing the kp if it's sleep enabler then reboot after kp and boot with -v pmVersion=23 flags if that lets you boot then add pmVersion=23 to org.chameleon.Boot.plist... but when the next kernel/update is released it will most likely have to be changed again. but there are newer sleep enablers that do not require pmVersionin the boot plist

bronxtech kind of new to this , so do i just put pmversion=23 or exsample (<string> pmverion=23).

update: I figured out how to change pmversion=21 to 23, but when my computer wakes from sleep my usb mouse doesn't work , i unplug the micro receiver and pluged it back up and my computer crashes ..says hold down the power to restart. any ideas on a fix for this?

  3. ok. have you tried repairing disk permissions with disk utility, or it could also be a corrupt sleep image.

i did a disk permissions repair , it's crazy my 250gb test harddrive works fine but my 500 gb harddrive doesn't , when i close the lid and let it sleep and open the lid it brings up hold down the power button and restart machine.

  4. npci=0x02000 can be used alone it's suppose to help in 10.6.8/lion with pci bus. you can try it to see if it helps with nvidia mmodels

ok i tried this on my test harddrive and it worked with a clean install , when i switched back to my primary harddrive and put in the npci=0x2000 and put my laptop to sleep , when i try to wake it all i get is a blank screen.

  5. try npci=0x02000 at the chameleon prompt also are you using powerpack? if you are then you need to use edp 1.9 on 10.6.8

i'm using edp 1.9 , i haven't added any powerpack. so will npci=0x02000 work without a powerpack and will i still need to do the getting sleep to work wiki.

  6. hey guys , i'm currently running 10.6.3 on my d620nv and sleep works fine , i have a extra hardrive that i play around with (running 10.6.8),but with i use the sleep fix in the wiki my machine crashes when i wake it up ,i have to force it to shutdown. Is there any solution to get sleepmode to work.

  7. It seems problem to be solved with NVEnabler.kext installation!!!

Both default and -verbose mode works fine. I have not KP when launching Activity Monitor!

But now I confused : I have multiple messages "NVEnabler: probe fails" during boot process!

    dmesg:

    NVEnabler: init : begin

    NVEnabler: probe : probe

NVEnabler: probe : ROM shadow enable

    NVEnabler::probe fails

Should I worry or this is normal!?

    Thanks

    Config:

    -Dell Latitude D820: Intel Core2Duo T5600/2GB DDR2/NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M 512 Mb/Dell 1395 wireless card (instead native intel 3945)

    -Mac OS X: iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) cd + Retail 10.6.3 + Chameleon 2 RC5 r665 + EDP 1.8(with powerpack) + ComboUpdate 10.6.7 + VoodooPowerMini.kext

Hey try this , put your retail disc in and install the add-on called rosetta. restart your machine and try it know.this is if you don't have sleep enabled, my sleep works using 10.6.3 using bronxtech sleep method...i didn't set a system password in the bios.

  8. Hey guys, I got mac os x 10.6.8 running and i also did the sleep fix , but when i close my lid and them open it back i get a black screen that goes white , so i have to do a hard reboot.Does anyone know what might cause this and my a fix for it.

  9. I receive the same error when updating to 10.6.8...

Does anyone have the procedure on how to properly update to 10.6.8 using EDP 1.9? I am assuming you run the update and prior to reboot run EDP. Thanks!

    Mark

Try repairing your harddrive permissions , do a verify first and just follow bronxteck directions , all went well for me working on my sleepenabler now as we speak.

  10. set bios to defaults is a preference in the bios... look through it. did you follow the sleep method on the wiki i linked too?

bro your awesome , got my sleep working . now i'm working on trying to get the 10.6.8 update to work without killing my system(had to do a reinstall mac os twice). also my activity monitor doesn't work , do you know were i can find a replacement.also i did use the sleep method from the wiki, the wiki is my new hang out spot...lol

  11. hold off your model will not take it lightly, backup S/L/E ! a lot of changes required including dsdt modification and the update is not worth the headache ... no improvements to os just problems but search the forum theres a lot of info on your machine already posted. Simeon is doing an extensive rewrite for that model

Is there a way to update to 106.8,i just did a software update and got a panic. i'm installing 10.6.3 again , if anyone knows of a way to update please let me know.

  12. check the wiki we keep common fixes there. have you updated the bios to the latest dell bios? also set your bios to default.

got that fixed , how do i reset the bios to default i'm trying to get my sleep to work, what do i need to press to wake it up from sleep.

  13. install edp to your install media then run the edptool.command in /Extra folder... build for your machine type.

how do i get it to power off , when i power it off my display goes blank but my power light is still on.also how do u get it to wake from sleep mode....thanks

  14. hey bronxteck will the this D820NvidiaBootCD.iso.zip work on my d620, it has nvidia graphics.I seen this in another one of your posts.

update: it's install , but i had to use my external dvd burner and a usb mouse. i have no trackpad and no sound . know i need to figure out how to boot without the boot disc.

  15. it doesn't give me any options, all i see is the apple logo and the spinning wheel, also could i use a external hard drive to do 8gb pen method , i've tried 3 bootloaders already.

also i downloaded E.D.P how do i install it.

  16. hey guys just purchase snow leopard 10.6.3 and when i insert my bootloader and then insert the mac disk it doesn't load mac it just show a harddrive....any ideas
