  1. No, I'll have a regular cursor on the login screen, looks like it'll work normally, then when I go to type anything, it'll completely freeze up. No errors or anything, just spinning cursor of death. After about 20-30 minutes, it'll type whatever I tried typing before, then when I go to login or change the password, spinning cursor of death for hours. Can't run that debug report because I can't get to terminal Edit: Dropping this project for now unfortunately... Had to rob a drive from a spare laptop for a MacBook Pro I picked up for $30. When I can, I'll get a new drive and post up!
  2. Puts my computer to sleep when I get an Apple Logo. No kernel panic, just puts it right to sleep.
  3. Upgraded. Replaced files. Same crash as previous post Edit: It will boot in safe mode.
  4. The error goes by too fast. I can't get a picture of it, even by trying recording slo-mo at 240fps. The laptop screen can't keep up. How can I make boot.log be logged by Clover?
  5. Blew it all away. Built a new clover folder for my configuration. It installs. It boots to the install page. Installs. Then I can configure user info. Once I reboot and use the USB or hard drive (same EFI folder as USB) and gets a kernel panic. I don't know how to pull the boot.log from Clover, because even slo-mo 240FPS can't capture the crash. It crashes right before it shows the Apple logo. Here is the current folder attached. EFI-E5430-HS.zip
  6. Same specs as above reply. Currently boots into MacOS. I have no ethernet, no bluetooth, and no wifi, since the DW1520 (BRCM4360) kext has been changed for high Sierra. I did the manual patching (hex editor) from here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8739-patching-airportbrcm4360-kext-for-unsupported-mac-models/which causes boot loop. Haven't tried anything else yet, since I need internet working first. Any suggestions? EDIT: Another issue. Once it boots, I can mount EFI and play with it, but once I reboot it when I play with the EFI partition, I get a boot loop until I put the drive in a dock and mount the EFI on another computer. Once I do that, put it back in the laptop, my boot loop is gone. I don't understand whatsoever. I am unmounting it before rebooting after I play with the partition.
  7. EDIT: My BIOS version is A16. Do I still need to downgrade to A12 still for 10.13? I remember 10.10 and 10.11 needed A12. E5430, i5, 8GB RAM, 1366x768 screen. I am using the dsdt and ssdt that Jake posted. I ran into the same issue with the hard drive formatted as NTFS not showing in Disk Utility. So I changed to the config posted for the USB fix. Now I get this screen: EDIT2: Fixed. 1366 vPro Pre-Install clover folder. Needed AHCIPortInjector kext. Folder is attached. E5430-Pre_Install1013-1366.zip
  8. I really do miss projectosx. I go on WebArchive.org and I'm able to access a lot of the threads. A lot of stuff for my Z68 chipset desktop that has been lost is on there. Thanks for the help guys!
  9. How do I re-enable hibernation? I disabled it according to your guide, now I can't wake or resume from Sleep.
  10. Everything is working, except bluetooth. First thing I did was the patch with macKextLight, then rebooted. Bluetooth worked. Then, I replaced the config.plist with the one you created for me. I lost bluetooth. HDA_IDT works great. Everything is working except bluetooth. I attached my CLOVER folder. That folder contains your config.plist with the patches. I have also attached my working config.plist that bluetooth works with. Only difference is the patches. Ever since I ran: sudo pmset hibernatemode 0 sudo rm -f /var/vm/sleepimage sudo pmset hibernatefile /dev/null I have not been able to wake my laptop from sleep. Just a black screen with a spinning color wheel. CLOVER_savage24x.zip config.plist.zip
  11. Derp, never clicked "Attach this file." I knew someone was hiding that audio kext from me. The Broadcom(?) 380 is the bluetooth module. EDIT: No audio. Removed the Yosemite AppleHDAIDT kext and installed El Cap HDAIDT. Two files in /S/L/E, AppleHDA and AppleHDAIDT. Do I remove AppleHDA? Also, backlight adjustment stopped working after installing HDAIDT and touching the /S/L/E folder. Edit2: following the guide you made, replacing my other kexts with the ones in E6230 for 1366x768.
  12. Currently have my El Capitan install working with HD4000 1536MB, DW1520 Wi-Fi, and that's about it. Sleep works, two-finger scrolling works. I tried the Yosemite HDA 92HD93 (AppleHDAIDT.kext) and config.plist mod for the audio with no dice. Bluetooth is also not working, due to the USB changes inside El Capitan. I attached my CLOVER for anybody that wants to get their El Cap running. Any ideas for audio and bluetooth? CLOVER_E5430_1011.zip
  13. Got rid of it, Clover is the latest, still the same issue put bios settings to what it says in the guide. SIP is disabled via config.plist, instead of 0x03 I had to modify the RTVariables to 0x67 to get it to boot, then a modified OsxApt fix (can't remember full name). Now I have it freezing at different spots. Sometimes it'll go all the way down to loading the voodoops2trackpad kext, way past the CPUSensors. EDIT: Got it to install! Used this config.plist. https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config/blob/master/config_HD4000_1366x768.plist CLOVER_savage24x.zip
  14. Hey guys, bumping this up to the top. Don't want to create a new thread. El Capitan upgrade, I'm running into an AMFILoadTrustedKey freeze at boot to the installer. This is coming straight from Yosemite, no wipe or anything. Any suggestions? CLOVER_savage24x.zip
  15. Has anybody figured out how to use the brightness keys on the keyboard? I have to manually go into displays and change the brightness.
  16. Didn't affect the experience at all. Still that wide gap scrolling and somewhat glitchy two finger click. Not a big deal, just nice to have Mac again! Thanks for both of you guys' help.
  17. Awesome, that fixed it. The only issue I'm having is with the touchpad and scrolling. It's somewhat jittery and I have no two finger scrolling. Is there a kext out there?
  18. Sorry, old forum habit Been quoting since early 2000's. Hard to break the habit. I installed A12 and followed the guide perfectly. I'll probably recreate the USB. Is there a support thread for that guide? Couldn't find one. Was running into issues trying to boot the USB. UEFI works great.
  19. When he said < A13, does he mean set it to A13 or A12? BIOS < A13 usually means A12, but I have A13 installed.
  20. Awesome, thank you. I'll have to figure out how to downgrade BIOS. Shouldn't be too difficult.
  21. E5430 i5 vPro Wireless card is DW1520 or DW1510, whichever I grab out of my drawer first. 1366x768 Yosemite or El Capitan. Yosemite would probably be easier.
  22. Perfect, thanks for the reply. I can't find a specific guide for the E5430. Are there any around here?
  23. I've successfully done an E6410 previously, but that wasn't a vPro Ivy Bridge. Is there anything special I have to do for a vPro model? Which guide should I follow? I may need to be refreshed on DSDT.aml stuff and the likes.
  24. dudu, I'm not sure what you mean by this: - install Boot0af in MBR - cloverEFI - cloverEFI 64-Bits SATA - Drivers64UEFI - EmuvariableUefi-64 - OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 RC scripts on target volume Can you explain?
