Keyboard fixed worked. Now my windows key is the Apple command. Thanks Mick!

to prevent sleep (which destroys my ability to boot again) I set my display and System to never sleep, I also set the screen saver to come on. This works for now. But sleep still leaves the system down and the power switch to stay lit.

These don't do much more for me. No change for battery indicator. not sure about sleep. Sleep no worky too. I reinstalled OS X ML and my reboot works again from Hard Drive Bootloader. Verbose is gone in the new extra and the white OSX LATITUDE boot screen loads fine into login. Extra V13 2.zip Extra V14.zip

I put an audio CD in the tray and OS X read it immediately and opened iTunes. The audio plays successfully and I can skip tracks and everything. Audio CD is listed in the finder. Eject feature from finder pops the tray open. But, the eject logo at the top of the screen still says "no drives" even when the audio CD is listed in finder. Cannot eject from there. I am on Extra v 13 (2). Trackpad and joystick work fine (no 2-finger). No battery still.

Ok no problem Mick, I know you're on top of it all. no worries. You know I really appreciate the help you've already given me. And as promised on payday I will contribute a donation. I am attaching my error log I think. A lot of info there so I did not know what you needed. No webcam for me, I dont have a built in one. Still the CD-ROM is a problem. I need that for burning audio production projects. I will fill out the form. After I try Extra V11, I will post my results. Thank you Mick!

Mick, I'm on V10 EXTRA. -I have a functional trackpad and center pointer-track stick. Still no 2-finger tracking -sleep absolutely doesn't work. If the computer has no input for longer than like 10 minutes, it will not awaken. -no battery found. Battery indicator is X -CD-ROM not recognized -Wi-Fi works -I installed a bunch of software. After my computer went to sleep once, the OSX bootup doesnt work. I could only get back into OSX via booting from USB MyHack stick. I attempted to reinstall Extra V10 and Full MyFix from the installer. -x -v does not boot OSX from Hard drive. I can still only boot from USB chameleon. I have champlist 2.4 installed where I edited org.chameleon.Boot.plist to not boot verbose. Maybe that broke something but I doubt it. I think sleep affected something. Because after booting without -v, it was working all up until the computer went to sleep with inactivity longer than 10 minutes. This is weird so for now I'm installing more software and booting via MyHack USB bootloader.

iMick is the Messiah!!!!!! Supreme being!!! Since the new year began I've been working on this project and Mick successfully got OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion running beautifully on my E6520. I'm using it right now to type this. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The INTEL HD 3000 is beautiful!!! Resolution is full resolution. Trackpad works but not 2-finger. The keyboard works. I don't have the backlight but will try to buy a backlight keyboard and swap that. My stock Wi-Fi card does not work but I have one that i can swap to. I will be trying to install a spare that I have. It's a broadcom BCM94311. I have another one as well but will have to take that out of a different laptop. My E6520 does not have touch-screen or camera so I cannot test those. The speakers output sound, they sound weak but I think that is just the size of the speakers. The volume buttons respond to the on-screen volume actions but the volume doesn't change. The volume using preferences does work. The CD-ROM device is not recognized. The SD card slot does not read SD cards. I tried three cards. The battery is not recognized, but the battery still keeps the laptop on when it is unplugged. The LCD backlight can change brightness levels. The Fn Up/DOWN can change the brightness levels. The screen is plenty bright. The windows button does not seem to work as command key. The command (windows) key does this when I hit it with letters.-------> Ω≈ç∫ƒ˙∆¨†®∂ß∑´®ƒ©∆˚µ USB works have not tried video (VGA/HDMI) out. So I don't know if that works or not. I don't know about eSATA or Firewire either. The finger cursor mouse thing in the middle of the keyboard works. And so do the click buttons that go with it. Restart works. Shutdown works. I don't think sleep works after shutting the lid, but when the computer doesn't have activity and the screen goes dim for a minute then to black after that, I press the mouse button and the login screen comes on just fine. If there is anything else you want me to check let me know and I will try it. If anyone can help me (MICK!!!) figure out the rest I would appreciate it. -------------------------------------------------------------- To get this working I used the EDP method with MyHack and the bootpack Mick provided me with (Extra folder) If anyone else is using the work of Mick (EDP-Bootpack) then please contribute to the donation page and show the OSXLATITUDE team some love.

I finally was able to extract my DSDT using Linux UBUNTU LIVE 11.04 x64 using this method: EXTRACT A VANILLA DSDT IN Ubuntu LINUX 1. Download Ubuntu Live CD from Ubuntu web site Desktop CD section. Choose the 64bit version (or 32bit if you prefer) http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop 2. Burn and boot from CD. Choose the 1st option, run without installing. 3. You will be in the Ubuntu desktop as user ubuntu with a home folder of /home/ubuntu. 4. Select white Ubuntu icon called Dash Home (located at the top left), enter the letter 't' or the word 'term' in the Search bar to reveal the Terminal. Launch the Terminal and type: sudo cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT > dsdt.aml Now you'll have it in your home folder. 5. You can save the file to a USB flash drive and transfer to OSX for future editing or upload it to the forum ============================================================================================================== Now I am uploading my DSDT for anyone to see and work with to help out everyone with DELL E6520 I have the i5 and my display is Intel HD 3000 resolution 15.6 HD+ (1600x900) Anti-Glare LED dsdt.zip

well now i cant get unifail or MyHack to load up into the OSX 10.7 install I read some people were having problems installing with the latest unifail and I can't access the older builds. I like the MyHack method but the Bootbacks I'm using for EDP, are not specifically for the E6520, so I keep getting Kernel Panics. The first panic is the AppleCPUpower or whatever and then I delete that from the USB stick and I get KP with AppleAPCIPlatform or whatever i can't remember. But nothing is ever working. I can't even inswtall OSX anymore. Will worry about sound and video once i get it installed. Stay in touch so we can get this figured out. I'm on like month 6 now of trying and still getting no where. Not quitting though.

Seriously! Finally someone with Intel HD 3000 has got it fully working! now how'd you do it and can you post under the e6520 thread. I seem to be the only one with that GPU but I'm sure others will soon show up. Thank you so much and I'm looking forward to your help.

I have the Intel HD 3000 in my e6520! Can you please post in the e6520 section a tutorial for what you did at least regarding that displaygetting full resolution. I've been trying nearly a year now. Thank you so much
-
I've seen the word but don't recall how to find it...i need to figure that out to let you know...
-
I swear I've used GraphicsEnabler already and it did nothing. I sure wish someone with the e6520 (intel hd 3000) i5 with 4gb RAM and a successful OSX 10.7 Lion install could help out and tell me exactly what they did. It's like I'm the only one on the planet with this laptop trying to install this. Even the only one on this site. I have been tryin for months and months....almost nearing a year even. But, I keep trying. I've heard to try my Hack . Lion should use Intel HD 3000 out of the box. Mac uses it standard. I'm trying this next: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/03/intel-hd-3000-on-your-hackintosh.html
-
OK, I'll give that a shot...I'm still trying to get this to run. I think the Intel HD 3000 has a big part to do with the dificulty but Apple used that graphics chip in the mac mini so if i select that as the identifier it should work but it doesn't get me full graphics. I don't know what I'm doing anymore...I've been in and around so many circles with this install. School has started again and i still dont have Mac on this e6520....I need it badly.
-
So basically still no help??? I'm about to try MyHack 3.1 if anyone cares....
-
Is there any chance you can post a once and for all tutorial on the e6520....? I have been trying since Feb and still no luck getting lion to work. It's been so long I think I might just try Mountain Lion now. This is ridiculous how long it is taking. BTW, I have the INTEL HD 3000. So not sure if you tutorial would exactly work for me. Anyway, I have been posting left and right on every forum I can find and normally I dont post all becuase I know I how to research and read for myself how to do things. But, this has stumped me. I get into the OS X install just fine using unifail method over USB. My problem starts after trying to run the latest multifail. I do choose Mac mini due to the INTEL HD 3000 as the profile. Please PM me if you like or hit me on gtalk solja.b

This forum has been worthless for help. Ive been working on this E6520 for months and still can't get it to work. for the 12 time I will ask for any assistance you can provide. I have this nice i5 and it sits there. Anyway, good luck to any other e6520 users.
-
Still no help with this....I am on the exact same spot as I was last time I replied. . . . I have tried other install methods but the unifail USB method works the best But once using multifail....i can't start up. Please help! I am using INTEL HD 3000

I've tried the iFail L2 Install method, still a no go. I did a restore to USB using disk utility with the .dmg image file. I then installed chameleon to the new iFail L2 USB. The install goes great but after restart, can't get into seeing the Lion setup. I'm stuck in verbose but hear the OS X setup speech and music. Any ideas where to go next?
-
I've tried using iFail L2 restored to a 8GB PNY USB. I then installed the latest Chameleon bootloader to the USB. I can install iFail L2 but after the install completes, the OS halts but I hear the OS X setup music and speech. I would be looking at the verbose screen though, not Lion. any ideas?
-
My new method will be to steer away from chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded). I will only be using Chameleon and ChamPlist. Someone recommended Dumping DSDT and Patching as it is more reliable and better. Anyone have thoughts on this? Still looking for some help on the most complete install to date.

Is there a specific process that I should follow exclusively for the Dell E6520?
-
Whoa, first i'VE HEARD OF THAT, please explain?!? thanks.
