  1. By looking at the PikerAlpha's generator script only I assumed it's limited to ALC. Would you mind sharing the injector kext and Clover kextstopatch section? Which device do 5530 and 5430 have? Here it's 0x111d76df.
  2. E6230 has IDT chip, so PikerAlpha's method won't work for me. I have not looked into it in details yet though, so there's a chance it can be easily adapted for IDT chips, too.
  3. For what it's worth, I've been using Clover on my E6230 for months now. I have reported my initial findings in this post here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1534-dell-latitude-e6230-thread/page-3&do=findComment&comment=22298 In the meantime, I have created my own repository on bitbucket where I store my Clover EFI directory and update whenever I have time to fix some of the remaining issues: https://bitbucket.org/bnplz/e6230 I also reached for help to Clover devs in some areas, but even though it was over a month ago I still haven't had time to work on this: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3152 What you may also find interesting are these manuals providing almost complete support for Dell Vostro 3450 and Thinkpad T420 UEFI laptops: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/285678-lenovo-thinkpad-t420-with-uefi-only/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293246-mavericks-on-dell-vostro-3450-inspiron-14r-uefi-clover Also a list of rehabman's common DSDT laptop patches here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch I will appreciate some cooperation so we can have some of the common issues resolved. EDIT: I seem to have some of the things done in a less intrusive way, like the battery support that does not require replacing the ACPIPlatform and SmartBattery kexts. I also support the Dell Bluetooth dongle in the same way. EDIT2: Regarding the USB 3.0, it works for me using GenericUSBXHCI kext, but since the 6x30 (or at least 6230) come with Intel hardware stack to support it (no 3rd party controllers), it should be possible to have it working with native kexts only and Devices/FakeId/XHCI=deviceid_vendorid and Devices/USB/Inject=true options in Clover. This is what has been suggested to me in other forum and it's on par to what I have researched so far. EDIT3: coming from the Dell guide I linked above, there is some neat Clover patch that helps to get rid of VoodooHDA and avoid overriding the AppleHDA kext at the same time: "ml.zlib -> aml.zlib - a patch intended to trick AppleHDA into thinking it needs to read Resources with extension .aml.zlib and not xml.zlib. What this allows you to do is place your own layout and platform resources inside AppleHDA and they won't be updated...; ever! Keep reading about AppleHDA patches."
  4. I wound up using the Niresh disk to boot iFail and installed with Intel 3000 selected, everything looks amazing at 1440 x 900. Doesn't recognize ethernet, wifi, or sleep yet, working on all 3. Most will be helped by your kexts. Did we ever come up with a fix for sleep?
  5. Heya Patel. I wound up getting Niresh 10.8.2 just to see if it would boot. I got it installed with minimal additives in the hopes that I could boot in, remove the extra crap, and plug in the kext folder you have so it runs as clean as possible. It goes smoothly in verbose, hits the swapon, then goes to a black screen while the HDD activity light blinks away. I'm almost certain its booting perfectly and showing the welcome screen, but wont show. Are there any bootflags you'd recommend to make video work? Or a method to transfer the files and delete Disabler and other kexts from single user? There were video options within Niresh, but I was unsure which to choose as I'm not even sure which Intel GMA is in this thing. There were 10 different injection options for each Intel 3000 and Intel 4000 and confusing instructions to use different Mac profiles and graphics enabler in conjunction with them so I just installed without any injections.
  6. Came here to report that even though v7 of your fork works fine for the touchpad on my e6230, the most recent Rehabman release from September 19 does not. I run the Debug version of Rehabman, but there was nothing interesting in dmesg. Let me know if there's anything I can do to debug.
  7. Is that something I need to do from Single User mode or do I type that in as a boot flag and hope to catch it as it flies past in the startup log? How would I patch once I find it? I hate to sound like a newb, especially since I've been OSx86 for 5yrs, but this particular build was supposed to be much simpler than this and I'm in that foggy lost mindset. The hard drive is fine, if I restart and don't tell it to boot USB it loads up Windows 7 from the HDD without a hitch and I can use my production software with no bugs. It shows a bunch of messages about failed Broadcom but those pass in a flash, it winds up taking the longest at the end when it says Bluetooth is loaded, then tells me the Ethernet address, then just sits there for 25min before the welcome screen pops up and I can't move the mouse. 20min after that the screen turns white as it tries to sleep but cant, I click a button and the mouse works. I go to format disk, it shows no disk but the USB drive. I feel like the kexts aren't playing nice with my laptop for some reason...
  8. It took an hour before it even got to the welcome screen, then wouldnt show my hdd. I reseated the usb drive and now i get perma-spinny thing. Were you serious about reseating the SATA drive or just jesting at my utter misfortune T__T I really dont want to resort to distro's v.v
  9. Left the PC to boot non-verbose and came back from dinner to a loaded, working installer. Twas quite excited. Went to Disk Utility and there was only the usb drive listed. I restarted to check my BIOS settings and the laptop was set to AHCI. Restarted and booted non-verbose, still waiting for main screen. I have no idea why it worked and why it decided to not recognize my HDD.
  10. Alright, so I don't have to delete intel kexts from the installer usb for my intel video? I did exactly what you just outlined and it hangs the verbose at AppleIntelE1000e Ethernet address. Above that is a bunch of notices about failing to load AirPortBrcm43xx. Giving it another 10min before I restart it, sometimes it takes 15min to suddenly boot into the installer and not let me click stuff EDIT: I removed the video kexts. It got me to the screen, but once again my mouse and keyboard are non responsive T_T EDIT EDIT: Realized my BIOS was set to RAID for some reason, did Defaults and set AHCI, rebooted to installer and got buffer headers IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 64:87 Our favorite hang. I'm getting dinner
  11. No need for apologies!! D: You've helped hundreds of people out with your guide, it just hates me for some reason. What kexts should I be adding/deleting for my specific build (aside from the two specified folders)? I have Intel Graphics and the A15 Bios. I'm onto step 16 of the process again as we type. I wasn't sure if it was asking to delete kexts after the whole process or if AppleAHCIPort.kext & IOAHCIFamily.kext needed to be added to the installer drive or, well, you get the picture.
  12. Alright, so I'm attempting it once again but with the 10.8.5 installer. I feel like after attempting it six times I may have done it correctly at least once, but maybe you're right. The edits are a bit confusing, so some clarification would be appreciated. Of my knowledge I have followed the guide verbatim. Patel says in his 10.8.4 edit "If you have downloaded the Mountain Lion installer on or between August 23, 2012 and September 18, 2012, please use the E6410 ML 10.8.4.zip (found below) with the guide". But he also says to follow coldsun's advice who states to not use the folder at all until you're at the end of USING the installer, not CREATING. I did that 3x. I'd create the installer using the E6410 ML file (following step-by-step), drag E6410 ML & E6410 ML 10.8.4 over after it's done (in their own separate folders, not into Extra), and plug it in. I make sure AHCI is enabled, restart the pc into the USB, and watch in verbose. It would hang at Ethernet address and go nowhere. I attempted creating the installer again and did the same but deleted AppleIntelHDGraphics.kext, AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext after realizing there was a different step for Intel graphics. 80% of the time it shows Ethernet address and hangs. 20% of the time it boots into the installer and trackpad/keyboard/usb mice don't work. I waited a while, didn't work after 20min. I put the voodoo kexts for trackpad in and tried again, got a KP. I got frustrated and used the 10.8.4 folder to create the installer. No dice. I don't understand what the problem is. I have the same laptop as everyone else following the tutorial. Mine uses Intel graphics and I'm now starting from the 10.8.5 installer. What steps am I supposed to inject into the original step-by-step tut from Patel? Is there any other BIOS edit aside from AHCI that I have to do? Am I supposed to use the 10.8.4 AppleAHCIPort.kext & IOAHCIFamily.kext in the installer's Extra folder? I'm so lost T.T
  13. I've tried this method multiple times with the 10.8.4 installer on my E6410 with Intel HD graphics. Every time I attempt it and I actually manage to get to the language screen of the installer (50% of the time it never gets there, just ends on Ethernet and sits there) my keyboard and mouse are non-responsive and I can't use any usb mice either. I tried it using the e6410 ML folder with the installer, I tried using the e6410 10.8.4 ML folder, I deleted the proper kexts for intel graphics, nothing works. I even tried using the voodoo keyboard kexts at the bottom of the tutorial, but I got an immediate KP. Why cant I use my trackpad/keyboard when it starts the installer? I read many pages of comments to this thread and found nothing similar to my issue (if there's a search within thread function please point it out, cuz I cant see one and it's sooo useful in a forum)
