just realized there's no audio on my d520. not sure if was working before i restarted as never checked but according to system preferences there's no hardware to configure?

having created my myhack usb stick is there a way to create an install dvd of it. just as a back up incase my usb gets corrupt or anything

right thats what i thought, said the kext could cause kernel panics. thanks again

built myhack usb stick and installing as we speak. but the first time (it failed once) it asked "do you want to use generic extra" that comes with myhack or use your own and "remove apple tyne edriver kext" "remove apple upstream user client kext" not sure what to select here

would the legacy kernel be my best option for this system? this is all new to me so if someone says do this i tend to do it

am using nawcoms and after i press f5 i type in rd(0,0)/Extra/modbin_kernel -v but when i osx disc boots i cant select utilities as no usb support for mouse

now i have a retail disc of snow leopard 10.6.3 i thought i'd retry my main pc. every time ive tried before the install disc gave kernel panics but this time i got to "pick your language, where im supposed to go to disk utilities. but i cant use my mouse to get to utilities? ive tried a usb to ps2 adaptor but still nothing. im taking it that ive no usb during install as ive had to dig out a ps2 keyboard. system specs as follows biostar a7208b amd sempron 2.8 2 gig ram 250 maxtor hdd (sata) nvideo 1 g geforce any help appreciated

when i installed osx 10.6.1 i chose english and british but my keyboard is in american? i mean if i want the @ icon i have to press shift and 2 ive been in system preferences and keyboard but cant see anyway to change it to uk? any help appreciated

so this isn't a genuine retail disc? i bought from a computer stall in a market near me before christmas

might not be i just know its 10.6.* just with dvd its 10.6.1-6.2-sse2-sse3.

10.6.1 im sure. so if i dont update the osx all the other updates should be ok

just osx dvd to install if i try nawcoms disc i cant type anything in to boot modbin kernel etc tried usb keyboard and still cant use keyboard
