  1. I want to let you know I just upgraded to Sierra. Was quite painless with the help of of your guide, and the tips you gave me above allow me to have sound and I can plug in an external HDMI monitor. I am also quite amazed at the kexts you guys put out for modding the HDMI(and other modified kexts offc), as the latest Macbooks(2013?) dont even ship with a HDMI port . Well done. In your guide you mention that kexts from the EFI folder Other should be moved to the /L/E folder, which is was I did, The kexts that remain outside the Other folder, remain on the EFI boot partition. Is this the right way or should I move the other kexts to /S/L/E aswell? This question remains because I rebuild the cache for the /S/L/E/ folders aswell... Thanks alot.
  2. Well there is a reason why I want to upgrade, because on of the audio plugins I use is currently not supported on El Capitan. Can I upgrade to Sierra and keep the files I currently have, and follow the exact same procedure as described in Jake Lo's guide?
  3. I read Sierra is better for some audio applications. Is there actually any other reason why I should upgrade to Sierra?
  4. Ok and that will fix the problems? Because at the moment I reverted back to El Capitan. I dont want to deal with the same problems, if you know what I mean
  5. This is the output that gave when I repaired permission and rebuild the cache, for both L/E and S/L/E folders (as documented in your guide): rebuilding //System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext IOAHCISerialATAPI_Injector.kext kext file:///Library/Extensions/DisableTurboBoostBattery.kext/ is in hash exception list, allowing to load kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67030 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA2A for kext AppleHDA_IDT.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext AppleBacklightInjector.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext VoodooPS2ControllerR6.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext Lilu.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext IntelMausiEthernet.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext IntelGraphicsFixup.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext FakeSMC.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext FakePCIID.kext kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext ACPIBatteryManager.kext KernelCache ID: B67178085BA9C792F6EFF5E910B007C6 kextcache updated critical boot files, requesting launchd reboot
  6. Yes, Ive replaced the whole EFI folder which was on the USB , to the EFI partition on the OSX harddisk I have attached my EFI folder so you can take a look. Hopefully you can help me out. Thanks. EFI.zip
  7. I allready did that... As you suggested, I've put all the the kexts which were on my EFI partition on my MAC drive. What I did as you, instructed: /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions The kexts that were in the Other folder, I have put them in S/L/E/. Still no sound, no HDMI video. I want to revert back to El Capitan. It worked perfectly fine before this. Having a second monitor is essential for me. I can't revert back to El Capitan because its not in the App Store for me. Thanks.
  8. Which kexts specifically are you talking about? I did as instructed in the Guide: Copy kexts from /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions of Macintosh SSD.
  9. Btw, laptop is e6430 , cpu i5 3320m , intel grapics
  10. Hi there, i installed sierra with the helpf from Jake Lo Guide. Everything is working fine it seems. Except when i plug in a external hdmi monitor, the laptop shuts off. Other problem i'm facing that sound does not work. For the installation I used the pack jake lo provided for sierra. I used the config.plist hi-res laptop has (intel 1600x900). I have no clue what to do at this point, can anyone help me out? Thanks
  11. I tried bronxteck version, its working fine, However trackpad acceleration is very clunky, not really useable for me... I use a 6430 And I run el capitan, I loaded those touchpad settings mentioned in original post, is this suposed to be for sierra or something?
  12. Yesterday, I could not open some applications saying , saying: "be sure to install any available updates osx". In the beginning of my installation I had turned all the options off from the App store ; e.g security updates, because I found the pop-ups about OS X sierra annoying Frustrated as I was that I could not open some applications, I had put the options back on again in the App store. It began with a software update which lasted about 5 minutes. Thats when the trouble started, I could not reboot into OS X ,I got a KP about cpu 2 and cpu 3 caller. i have now reinstalled OS X, and its working properly. But my question, whats the best practice in regards to turning updates on or off in the app store? I dont want sierra installed yet. But do I leave the other options on or off?
  13. Well i am back at the start now again, audio plugins are causing CPU overload when I placed this ssdt.aml in there. Edit: I removed the ssdt.aml Cpu is not overloading , and laptop is faster in general. What is happening?
  14. I have run the generator, it said it pasted the ssdt.aml in the extra folder. Could not find the extra folder. So I ran the ssdt generator script a couple more times. It appeared on my desktop and I pasted it in the ACPI folder. Can you confirm that my EFI folder now is correctly setup? Here it is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dipfn1df3nsiuxj/EFI.zip?dl=0
  15. Thats strange, I thought I pasted the ssdt.aml in there. Its gone now. What exactly do I need to do? Thanks
  16. Here it is : https://www.dropbox.com/s/wqkia8w03no73qx/EFI.zip?dl=0
  17. Thanks for taking the time. Here is my EFI folder. -----Sorry it was still uploading----- Interesting that OS X is more graphics hungry. I did not knew that. Anyway, I had a look in my bios, there might be a couple of things that drain the battery, for instance speedstep, turboboost and or c-states. Im just speculating, but it could be that speedstep or c-states dont play along very well with OS X ; e.g CPU constantly running at max speed.
  18. Yes everything is working like its supposed to go. Only problem im facing is that my battery seems to go way faster then on my windows partition. What would be the cause of this? And a minor problem, when I boot into OSX via clover 2/10 times it doesnt boot and boots in a black screen, and I have to press the power button to reboot.
  19. Thanks guys. how do I install those fakesmc with all its plugins? I can read some temps from my hwmonitor right now but its the rest is not accurate: Do I follow this guide? http://www.osxlatitude.com/tuning-performance-with-fakesmc-smbios-plist/ Performance tuning would be interesting. Is this achieved with this guide also. Or perhaps some other tweaks.
  20. Hello can you guys please help me: I succesfully installed el capitan 10.11.6 with this guide https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-precision-el-capitan-clover-guide/ At a point in this guide, it refers to El Capitan 10.11.4 (15E65)STATUS: GOOD UPDATE METHOD: APP STORE/SYSTEM UPDATE MODIFICATIONS NEEDED: Upgrade to latest Clover prior to upgrade just in case New Issues: 1) KP on some systems with VoodooPS2Controller. Reboot with USB installer, select HD/SSD to boot. Remove /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/VoodooPS2Controller and replace it with this one 2) DummyHDA with Clover-on-the-fly patch stopped working Install new kexts for according to your CodecID Exx30 AppleHDA_IDT.kext.zip 9.49KB 606 downloads I did not follow this step, because I was installing 10.11.6. Is this step necessary? This is how I did the installation instead: I got the bootpack and the efi folder from that guide, place the ACPI, Kexts and config in EFI/Clover. Was this the right way to do it? Also, when I ran ssdtPRGen.sh it gave me this output: "'cpu-type' may be set improperly (0x0604 instead of 0x0704)" Should this be changed somehow? The ssdtPRGen.sh gave zero errors though... My system specs: Bios A12 Dell e6430 1600x900 i5 3320m Intel HD 4000 Here is my ssdt.aml https://www.dropbox.com/s/tcjwvtfwp8y1aqm/ssdt.aml?dl=0 And here is my config.plist https://www.dropbox.com/s/hechaivic6zis1b/config.plist?dl=0 And is there some program where i can monitor my cpu? I want to know if this installation is not messing up my laptop. Hopefully someone can help me! Thanks.
  21. I have resetted the bios default settings. I was able to remove the multiple boot entries. Still it defaults into windows 7 and not in Clover, unless USB is plugged in with the OSX installation.
  22. yes, very strange indeed. I had this since first installation. I couldnt add a boot option or set boot order. What even more weird is that it displays usb media (in the bios menu) which are already pulled out. Seems there is a bug with Clover. Quite a few people have mentioned it on the internet.
  23. The main windows 7 drive, which I use the most, is a SSD. Physically swapping it with my HDD in my caddy would result in less write/read speed. So Id rather avoid that. Where is my efi partition located on windows 7?
  24. And how would I do that? I wont let me do in the bios. I can not add a boot option noir set a boot order.
