Latest DSDT boots, But still no brightness controls. I got my trackpad finally working, ALPS device. ApplePS2Smarttouch kext seemed to do it. Attached is my latest debug. debug_21976.zip

13,1 Smbios wouldn't boot. I can get 11,1 and 11,2 to boot. Still no Brightness controls. Also tried clearing NVRAM. Attached are latest debug. debug_15603.zip

It seems to rebuild in the cache, but during reboot, the first boot crashes then it reboots a second time normally. But without any Brightness controls. odd. lol.

Its currently in my L/E folder. But i did notice its not showing up in my kextcache logs. Wonder if its it due to fakesmc being in clover/kexts/other?

Ok, Replaced with attached DSDT and added SSDT-PNLF. System still boots fine but still no display brightness options. It seems backlight is showing in NVRAM. Attached are my debugging files. Send me Pauls-MacBook-Pro-111.zip

Awesome! Thank you @Jake Lo, Ill give this a shot when i get back to my rig. Also, ive noticed my trackpad has issues. I can use the trackpad with minimal settings. But in system preferences it doesnt show. Using the usual VoodooPS2 kext for usual trackpad functions. Any ideas?

Im back, Got another dell laptop here and ive had some decent success getting it up and running. I have almost everything working except for display backlight/brightness controls. Ive tried the usual SSDT-PNLF and kexts to patch and AppleBacklightinjector.kext. In display it would show the brightness control slider but the second you clicked on it the screen would go black. And it wasnt easy to get up and going again lol. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated Attached is my current clover folder. CLOVER.zip

Im still have the same issue with the UHD620. I've been trying new things in the FB-patcher app and the WhateverGreen and Lilu process. But still no luck. Its insane really. I feel your pain lol.

What value do you think I should start at? 0x76D 0x2 = 64mb?

Well we seem to be at a halt. Seems like my machine may not be compatible with CFL Drivers. Ive tried everything in my capabilities to fix it and Ive had some amazing help throughout the forums. But we just cant seem to come up with a fix. It just wont accept changing the device ID for some reason. 5917 is the ID. But anytime i try to fake that ID the machine locks at IOScreenLockState. So IDK. Any other ideas would be much appreciated

Really DVMT? Even after i ran the Setup_var command? It should be set to 160mb? Maybe my values are different. How can you tell its DVMT from the verbose output?

I wonder why it shows i have 2 devices? Theres no other GPU in this laptop.. I wonder if i need to disable the 0x14 device? or that its been my problem the whole time.

I cant see anything that you added for your device properties on your haswell. And also i notice on my generated-config theres 2 PCI devices labeled. PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) = IGPU and PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x14,0x0) = ???

That's correct. So is this a port patch? It's hard to see on my phone lol.

Heres the generated config clover output for me. It did add a few different properties in Devices/Properties. config-generate.plist.zip

Now its figuring out how to add the correct properties in Devices/Properties to set the patch lol.

@Jake Lo Does kext to patch in KBL framebuffer still work with the latest 10.14 beta and the new WhateverGreen And lilu.kexts? Or do i have to do it within Devices/Properties?

Well Ive been playing around with the new WhateverGreen and Lilu methods, and adding flags to the Devices/Properties section. Ive had alot of help over at IM. Still though im unable to get QE/CI working. For some reason WhateverGreen still shows in debugging logs that its try for 59178086 PlatformID. Which is not an OSX ID. So im still stuck at this point. Well I've seemed to have made some headway lol. I compiled the latest whatevergreen and lilu kexts. Also added HibernationFixup and voodoohda for some quick sound output. But I also added the minstolen patch and removed all injection from the Graphics section in clover. Just using inject EDID. Changed to a MacBookpro 14.2 via what the FB patcher is saying to use. And I can boot up without having to use 0x12345678. It still shows vram at 7mb for my uhd620 but animations are smoother that when using an invalid ID. Hey,. it's something! lol. I added fakepciid and fakepciidbroadcom for my wifi to the efi. Thats it. I removed all the other kexts from L/E including FakeSMC and installed all kexts in clover/kext/other. Its strange because the verbose screen loads very dim. Its hard to read. I can of course still get into the OS with my USB installer fine to make corrections. But im still not able to boot from this efi currently.

Ok, I gave the efi a shot. I can't boot from it either. It locks up at a strange place. Attached is a verbose lock point. The screen is really dim also when running in verbose with this config.

Oh yeah. I've been playing with that app for 2 days now lol. It's figuring out what settings in the connector tab to choose to create the right output to generate a port patch. Lol. I'm by no means a pro at it lol.

I've tried multiple patches to patch lvds to eDP but have had no luck. I've tried direct patching of the kbl framebuffer kext. But it usually just loads to a black screen. I can find the correct data in the framebuffer code. But I'm still no convinced I'm adding the correct connector code. I think 04000000 is the connector data for eDP. And 00040000 is the data for DP. Still not 100% sure I'm right though lol

I'll switch them around and give it a shot. On my desktop hacks I always use Clover/Kexts/other and it's always worked flawless. I recently switched to L/E due to when asking for help on "another" website they won't talk to you unless your Kexts are in L/E.
