EDP support/compatibility request Hardware Overview: Intel HD3000 Integrated Graphics AMD FirePro M6100 (has HDMI, DP, VGA outputs) i7 2620M (Sandy Bridge) Alps Touchpad Broadcom Wireless N (pci ven: 14E4, dev: 4727) Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN (don't think this is supported by OSX) Intel 82579LM Gigabit Ethernet IDT HD Audio Codec Firewire Of course I can provide whatever details are required and I am more than glad to learn and help. I'd like to use UEFI and Clover if possible. I would like to install OSX to a MiniCard SSD to keep things neat and tidy. Former MB Pro owner, so I have some experience in OSX terminal. I am a software developer (.Net, C/C++) if these skills help. I am also willing to create a guide and USB drive ISO for this laptop if we are successful. I am ok with either the discrete card or cpu graphics if one or the other is easier to implement. I can supply the M6100 graphics card ROM image if useful. I'd like to use Sierra if possible, but not necessary. Will donate whether we succeed or not, this site is a great resource. Thanks!
Hi, I have recently installed Yosemite on my Medion Akoya E6221 laptop. Spec: i3- 2310M (2330M?) processor, Sandy Bridge, Intel 6 series/C200 chipset. I have generated a ssdt according to the script of Pike R Alpha. I have also managed to create a dsdt with the help of someone else. I have used Chameleon. Enabled drop SSDT, disabled generating C and P states. Everything except the trackpad is fine even powermanagement (sleepmode) until I touch the trackpad. Then - although the trackpad does not function - the keyboard gets blocked. I have to reboot. Now here is an even more strange thing. If I use a dsdt I have extracted on this laptop (but not patched at all) then everything is fine including the trackpad but power management is not there of course. Even if I remove the VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext, the trackpad keeps on working. In fact I have removed all things I could find relating to the trackpad, but that does not bother the trackpad. It keeps on going. So now here are my questions: - How can it be that the trackpad keeps on running if I cannot find a kext/driver referring to the trackpad? - What is wrong with the dsdt file? If I use it the trackpad will not work but touching it only once will block the keyboard until reboot (IRQ conflict?) I have attached the dsdt file which causes the trackpad to malfunction and also ssdt.aml and org.chameleon.Boot.plist. Uhm...: Forgot to tell you that the trackpad pane in system preferences tells me: " Trackpad not found" ... DSDT.aml.zip org.chameleon.Boot.plist.zip ssdt.aml.zip
Hi. I have an Acer V5-171 model 33216G50ass Current status: Reports as Ivy Bridge / Sandy Bridge when booting from Chameleon with -v Mountain Lion 10.8.4 installed and working using unifail for the USB install and a Kext bundle containing DSDT from the TM forums. Chameleon bootloader needs manually copying because advanced format 4k drive. Self generated SSDT, speedstep works, cycling from 1.2 to 1.8 GHz as required. Using Macbook Air 5,2 smbios.plist. Onboard HD4000 works with either a DSDT edit or an EFI injection - full acceleration ok - GraphicsEnabler=yes doesn't work as the video ram is hardcoded in the bios to 128M. Cannot be changed without a patched bios. Onboard WIFI/BT combo did not work. Swapped out for Atheros AR5B93 from Ebay and now detected as Airport without modification. Needed patched AppleHDA for ALC269 - current version doesn't recognise internal mic (have post in AppleHDA Patching forum on this site and have dumped Audio Codecs from Linux. https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1967-applehda-binary-patching/page-4&do=findComment&comment=23184 Elan Touchpad V4 works perfectly with driver from here. Webcam works. Sleep works. All in all, a really solid hack book. However, I want to be able to create a custom DSDT (and learn more about it) and get HDMI audio working. It would be great to get some pointers (if posting on this forum is ok for that?) and maybe get the model added to EDP so that others have an easier time of installing OSX. Am more than happy to Alpha/Beta test as this is an experimental laptop. Attached is a clean DSDT extracted from Ubuntu LIve CD. I applied some patches for Ivy Bridge laptops and although the laptop boots fine, it freezes after 60 seconds requiring a reboot. I have attached that DSDT too. Any help and support would be great - don't mind doing the work myself if folks can point me in the right direction and highlight my errors. thanks, sem. 03/10/12 Update - tweaked the SSDT to allow idle to drop to 900MHz (going to 800MHz like an MacBook Air caused a panic on the i3 of this machine).
