Alun
Recently installed 10.13.4 on my Dell E7240 and everything seems to have gone smoothly thanks to the guides on this site (using the files for the E7440), but for some reason the webcam does not seem to be detected and I can't get it working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Administrators Bronxteck Posted May 30, 2018 Administrators Share Posted May 30, 2018 USB patches changed for 10.13.4 to confirm check to see if you see the cam on your USB bus.

Alun
Thanks Jake. However, that's the pack I used to build from originally. Is there a particular file in there that would be for the webcam?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 30, 2018 Moderators Share Posted May 30, 2018 No kext, webcam is USB based and the patched DSDT should have worked. Are you sure it has a webcam and it's working? Check BIOS if it's enabled? Post IOReg
Alun
I have replaced the DSDT file, just to make sure and still no webcam appearing. It is working, if I run windows from the same machine it is there. It is enabled in BIOS. IOReg attached
Alun
Hi Jake, have you had a chance to review yet?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 1, 2018 Moderators Share Posted June 1, 2018 According to the IOReg, you're not using the files I linked, unless you're only using it on the USB installer and not on the installed EFI partition. In that case, copy the Clover folder from the installer to the installed drive. You can of course just copy the DSDT.aml from my files to /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched. That should fix the USB/Webcam issue.
Alun
Hi Jake, I'm confused. I definitely copied the two files to the /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched folder on the installed EFI partition. I don't have a USB installer connected. I have just copied the one file again and there's no change. Maybe I'm copying the wrong file? When I click the item you linked to it takes me to a post with E7440_A21_HS.zip and it is that file I am opening up. Is that the correct file you are referring to?
