mill3rkydd
I keep trying to do the instructions to rebrand the wifi card to be recognized as an Airport card, but everytime I do the git command in Ubuntu, it never works. I'm using the Ubuntu 10.10 USB with Unetbootin. Can someone please give me some updated instructions please? Thank you.
Darvinko
Make sure that you are logged in to Ubuntu as root, or use the sudo command. Additionally the first line should be: git clone git://git.bues.ch/b43-tools.git I have come across older versions which have: git clone http://git.bu3sch.de/git/b43-tools.git which will not work. After checking the vendor & product ID's, check the regrev & ccodes to make sure they are 0x0001 and US to make sure you obtain maximum speeds. Darvinko
Additionally, make sure you are using an ethernet cable during the process to stay connected to the internet to download the utility and updates needed for the rebranding. This is necessary as the drivers for Ubuntu are different than those for windows or Mac and the WiFi card isn't working during this process. robdsgb
I also need help with rebranding my wifi , can't seem to get it to work. Using ubuntu 12.04 LIVE CD mode. Does rebranding require ubuntu 10.10 or is 12.04 ok?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted July 13, 2012 Administrators Share Posted July 13, 2012 seems simpler on the older 10.10 but 12.04 can be used
