eC//FrEaK
Hi folks. I'm currently using @Jake Lo's Big Sur bootpack with modified SMBIOS to MacBookPro12,1 due to the Big Sur regression with older MacBookPro. My integrated webcam is not working now... (with Catalina it did) Is it because of the SMBIOS?
Administrators Hervé Posted December 7, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 7, 2020 If you use a USBPorts kext previously created with a different SMBIOS, yes, that's perfectly normal. Why? Because your mapping of USB ports no longer matches what you created. So you either: 1) revert to MBP11,x SMBIOS you previously used and add boot arg -no_compat_check or: 2) re-create your USBPorts kext with hackintool.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 7, 2020 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2020 @eC//FrEaK You can also go into the Info.plist of the USB port kext and change every instance of MBP11,1 to MacBookPro12,1
eC//FrEaK
Problem can be marked as solved. I preferred to go with the solution @Jake Lo provided. Now everything is working as expected.
