Hi,

Did my first Hackintosh, yeah!

Had some trouble piecing it all together, so posting what I did to get my fully as purchased Dell Latitude E7440 hacked with Catalina.

Hardware:

  • CPU: i5-4310U (Hasswell) at 2 GHz, 2 cores, 2 GHz
  • GPU: Intel integrated graphics 4400
  • RAM: 8 Gb DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
  • BIOS version A28, default settings with the following changes:
  • disabled parallel and serial ports
  • disabled virtualization support

Steps to get it all working:

  • EFI from osxlatitude.com
  • Updated Clover Installer to r5122
  • Updated the following kexts (not sure this was necessary)
    • Lilu from 1.3.8 to 1.5.2
    • AppleALC from 1.4.x to 1.5.9
    • WhatEverGreen from 1.3.3 to 1.4.9
  • Added alcid=12 to the boot arguments (this enabled the internal speakers)
  • Removed AirportBrcmFixup (using the Intel WiFi card)
  • Added AirportItlwm.kext (version 1.3.0) to Library/Extensions. Ran the kextcache update. This gives full WiFi functionality for the original Intel AC 7260 card.
  • Replaced USBInjectAll with UBSforE7440 [extract from EFI].  This allowed BlueTooth and USB to both work.
  • Added IntelBluetooth
