esmith1966
No HD Graphics 4000 Does this mean that its the end of the line for E6530? OR will the Big Sur drivers work in Monterey?
Administrators Hervé Posted June 8, 2021 Administrators Share Posted June 8, 2021 Try it and let the community know. If you check the "macOS 12 Monterey on Unsupported Macs" thread at MacRumors, you'll see that some people already got Ivy Bridge MBP10,1 running Monterey and graphics acceleration for HD4000 is not achieved of course but is an on-going research matter. No problem for the Kepler dGPUs of course...

esmith1966
Attempted install onto E6530 and it hung at a certain point that I can upload later... OpenCore Legacy Patcher has (apparently) been able to patch Monterey to handle HD4000. The patcher with this update and not been released yet. Somewhat confused as to the process of taking a OpenCore Legacy Patcher created EFI folder and using it to boot an E6530 laptop.
Administrators Hervé Posted June 13, 2021 Administrators Share Posted June 13, 2021 These tools are made for real Macs so the process does not fully apply to Hackintoshes on which you would boot with a usual bootloader setup and then apply the patcher to your build.
