Latitude E5440: No TrackPad

The keyboard shortcuts do work, what doesn't work is the brightness regulation in the system either with the shortcut or with the taskbar one.

And thank you very much you solved the trackpad issue you are a genius

I got the brightness to work by changing the frequency in the display section from 60Hz to 40Hz

Out of curiosity I put it back to 60Hz and the brightness works great

Now my question is will my EFI work for the latest version of macOS since I currently use Big Sur ?

Thanks very much for all the help and for being active in the blogs.

the highest macOS you can run is Monterey, Ventura has removed all support for Haswell gpu.

Looking at the files, you only need to upgrade the Intel Wireless and Bluetooth kexts to support Monterey.

you can remove the following from the kext folder

  • ApplePS2Controller
  • AtherosE2200Ethernet
  • CpuTscSync
  • CtlnaAHCIPort
  • SATA-unsupported
  • USBInjectAll
  • XHCI-unsupported
