samhodge
Made a fresh OSX Lion 10.7 installer stick using myHack, included the Extras from http://www.osxlatitude.com/packs/Dell/Dell_Latitude_D820-nvidia-lion.zip tried booting from this stick. No luck I get a kernel panic with the message about AppleHDAController Can someone give me a recipe that works with this hardware? The closest I have come is booting into safemode in Mountain Lion which works fine except it is 1024x768 with no hardware acceleration. I might have some more time in about 15 hours from now, so any input would be great. sam

samhodge
For giggles I tried a Lion Installer with the myHack and the Dell D620 Extra's pack, this resulted in a kernel panic. I am wondering if I would be better off doing some paid work and buying a mac laptop. Sam
Administrators Hervé Posted October 6, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 6, 2013 Take the Intel 3945 wireless card out or disable it in BIOS for a start. That can lead to KPs.
samhodge
Yeah both the bluetooth and the wlan are disabled in the BIOS so that isnt the cause. sam
Administrators Hervé Posted October 6, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 6, 2013 The M65 really is like a D820 with the NVS 110M of the D620 and you should be able to use the bootpack of either or... Make sure your BIOS is configured as per those models' recommended settings.
rosmaniac
The M65 is functionally equivalent to a D820, with the NVS120M (not the 110M). I just day before yesterday reinstalled Lion on my D820/M65 mutt, using the D820 nVidia bootpack for Lion from April 8th. Are you using the App Store downloaded .app?
