thesunking1638
Hello OSXLatitude community! I just recently used the install guide to install mac osx 6.3.3 on my dell latitude d820. I followed all the instructions and got it intsalled fine. I followed the post-install instructions and set up edp. Ethernet worked fine and downloaded everything fine. I then shut down the computer. Upon turning it on the next day, ethernet didn't work. Wireless also doesn't work, (although it didn't work after edp either). Can anyone help? Is there a missing driver I can install or something? Administrators Hervé Posted October 14, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 14, 2013 What's OS X 6.3.3? You say you installed EDP, but did you actually do the System Build for the D820? Without it, you would basically install an empty /Extra directory which is one of the best way to break a Hackintosh built with myHack.
thesunking1638
My mistake, I meant 10.6.3. I was pretty sure I followed the post-install instructions exactly, although I guess I didn't. If it is of any significance, I created the myhack usb installer with an older version of myhack, as the newest wouldn't open correctly. Is there any way to correct this? Administrators Hervé Posted October 14, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 14, 2013 Using an older version up to v3.1.2 is ok.
thesunking1638
I used version 3.1.2. Should I try and install it again?
thesunking1638
If I were to buy something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Edimax-EW-7811Un-Wireless-Adapter-Wizard/dp/B003MTTJOY/ref=pd_sim_e_4 Would this get a working wifi connection? Administrators Hervé Posted October 15, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 15, 2013 That'll depend on the chip it's using. I'd recommend you opt for one of the supported mini-PCIe cards listed in the R&D->Wifi/Bluetooth section.
thesunking1638
Is there one of these that supports both windows and mac osx? (I boot windows from the primary hard drive, and then sometimes boot snow leopard with an adapter that goes inside where the cd drive usually resides)
Administrators Hervé Posted October 15, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 15, 2013 All (except maybe some of the newest 801.11ac) are of course supported in Windows.
