Everything seems to be working. Not sure if sleep will work and also not sure how to change the bootloader so it automatically boots into the OS and I don't have to hit enter on the keyboard. You've been very helpful I wonder if this will work in a docking station so I can use it at work.

Just wait until you see blinking light before opening so not to interrupt sleep. For instant boot, install and launch Chameleon Wizard. On the org.chameleon.boot.plist tab, on left side, under Boot Flags, move the ball all the way to the left until it said quiet mode. or copy org.chameleon.boot.plist from /Extra to the Desktop. Edit it with textedit.app. Change the below and put it back in Extra replacing the old. Instant Menu Yes to Quiet Boot Yes
GrandMstrBud
Sleep works, I found a WiFi card that is compatible and I'm going to swap out the webcam from my other E6520 tomorrow so I should have a nice working laptop after all this. Thanks for all your help, do I need to do anything special to get the WiFi card going? You might have to roll back the kext to 10.8.4 if you're using 10.8.5 as you won't be able to get connection to WPA/WPA2. Card will work on Mavericks but only can connect to WEP. Info is all on that post.
GrandMstrBud
I actually went with the Dell DW1397 Half Mini PCIe 14e4-4315 BCM4312 B/G Y Y Y1 Y2 N (same as DW1395) I'll check that out. Also is there a way to get the battery percentage to work? Sorry I know I'm a pain if I could buy you a few beers for all the help I would

See the post for the fix. Battery status should work. I remember you ran EDP, so can you list files that are in Extra/Extensions?

I can't copy the file to the folder it's not there and I can view hidden folders but can't open them. I know this is a learning process but I wish OSX wasn't so complicated I'm trying to paste in the files but it's not working.
