crazy_squirrel
I know this thread was a while ago, but it seems you haven't rebuilt the kernel cache. 1) type: "Touch /System/Library/Extensions" 2) reboot

pepsaholic
Activity… wow!oh…Well, since I'm here, the issue was never resolved. I replaced the screen with one from different sub-model that I know can be made to work properly. Either the main board doesn't (fully) support the screen, or the screen itself is broken. It doesn't do the 4-way split, but it looks like corduroy, even in the BIOS. Ultimately, I took out the screen(s) altogether, and use it attached to an external monitor. It's not much of a laptop, but it's somewhat functional. It worked 'fine', right up until I installed a USB WiFi (Netis WF-2116, I think), now it is unstable, and nearly unusable. Kinda' over it, and will probably just bite the bullet and get a real MacBook with my IRS refund
