bobdamnit
Good luck. I have this exact same audio device in my Inspiron 3520 and I've tried this as well, with no success. The only thing I've found that works is VoodooHDA version 2.8.2 and then editing it to enable the half audio fix. The only caveat I've found is that the internal microphone doesn't work, however the external microphone does work. You can find a pre-modified VoodooHDA and instructions here (look at the "Fixes" section for instructions, and the modified VoodooHDA is near the end of the guide): https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6392-dell-inspiron-3520-i3-2370m-hd3000-i5-3210m-hd4000-mountain-lionmavericks/

bobdamnit
I did not know that. I might patch nodes in VoodooHDA and see if I can get the internal microphone working, because having to carry around an external microphone is kind of a nuisance. Thanks for the heads up, Bronx! Trunyce
I have the same issue with my audio codec on my optiplex 790. I have sound working after numerous research and a couple of dsdt edits to change the layout to either 3, 7, or 9. But sound only works if i plug the speakers in the front headphone jack. The speakers jack input in the rear doesn't seem to be working and sound only comes from the internal speakers inside the machine. Anyone has a fix to this?
