RobertB
I have a Dell E6410 running for some time now and from the beginning I have a issue with the LAN. When I start the system LAn works just fine. But when I'm transferring files from the Dell to my Mac Mini every now and then the transfer stops and also getting stuff from the WEB is not possible any more. The LAn settings still seem to be the same. The only option I have found is to restart the DELL and then the LAN works again. Does any of you had this problem before and knows how to solve it? I'm at 10.9.2 thanks,

Administrators Hervé Posted May 11, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 11, 2014 Usual way for system specs: Terminal command lspci -nn... But never mind, are you using the kext referenced here? Check the versions.

Administrators Hervé Posted May 11, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 11, 2014 Sorry, your LAN interface is not listed there, only your wireless... Depending on your actual HW, you may want to try these other kexts, knowing that they may require patching to match your LAN card's PCI ids: AppleIntelE1000 or Intel82566MM. In system profile under software/extensions I see that the AppleIntelE1000e is loaded but with version 1111 of 23/1113 00:42 YES Not Signed. Could it bee that the system does load a wrong version from a other position? Is it the right version 1111 <> 2.5.4d? thanks, In the System/Library/Extensions folder I do not see this kext
Administrators Hervé Posted May 12, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2014 Kexts placed in /E/E always get re-labelled with v1111 by myHack once copied in Plugins subfolder of /S/L/E/mlyHack.kext. That's how kexts placed in /E/E can supersede vanilla kexts of the same name in /S/L/E. In the presence of 2 identical kexts, OS X will actually load the driver that holds the highest version number. The original version of "your" kexts is still visible directly from the kext in /E/E.
