Lenovo T410

I am trying to install Mavericks on a Lenovo T410.  I have created a stick drive with myHack added the extras. On startup if I use  -v I get the following screen info:

and if I use -x i get:

If I let the thumb drive just load with no command I get the Apple logo with whirling icon. Not sure where to go from here. HD was removed from laptop and connected to another Windows 7 laptop to format the drive before starting. Any ideas what is preventing the disk to load.

Bios version 1.25 2010-06-07

Embedded Controller  1.10

Intel Arrandale i5-520M CPU @ 2.40GHz

Memory 4096MB

Can you post us the bootpack you've used on this Mavericks 10.9.0 myHack USB installer? I would also suggest you add -f flag at startup to bypass cache.

No discrete graphics on this Lenovo apart from the integrated Intel HD 1st gen?

If 1st gen Intel HD only, check your display connector to verify if you can benefit from full graphics acceleration or not.

The bootpack is basically that "Extra" folder you install on the USB installer when you create it with myHack. If you did not use any, your USB installer is unlikely to boot. At minimum, you would use the default one provided by myHack.

After I loaded myHack on the stick drive I then loaded the extra file as recommended

org.chameleon.Boot.plist

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

If you don't have the Nvidia card and only the 1st Generation HD graphics, you can try my guide for T410s

Warning: Don't use the whitelist BIOS mod link from my guide, it's for T410s only. There's a T410 mod for whitelist here. Use at your own risk.

Install Whitelisted BIOS for installing a supported WIFI card. (Skip this step if you don't want to use WIFI)

  • Install original BIOS from the "Original Bios" folder.
  • Install moded BIOS from the "Moded Bios" folder.
    • Run WinPhlash32/64 (Depending on your system)
    • Hit the Browse button at the "Specify BIOS" Section and open up the 01BF000_WL.ROM file
    • After that hit advanced settings and make the settings look like this :

  • [ ] Verify BIOS part number
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is different
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is newer
[ ] Verify BIOS image size
    [ ] Verify BIOS checksum
[ ] Zero block before erasing
    [x] Verify block after programming
[x] Disable Axx swaping automatic detection (if present)
    [ ] Clear CMOS Checksum
    • Go to the DMI tab and select "Update the BIOS and not the DMI"
    • Close the Window and press "FLASH BIOS"
