Well I do remember looking for that kext myself for the longest time. But, I can't remember the details right now. Sorry. It's definitely the kext I'm using for my Ethernet card, tho. To be sure, I'll check at home my PCI ids and post them here. As for my WLAN I'm using a normal OS X kext (I just needed to change my card's info in the DSDT).

The one in the pack worked perfectly. I'll check at home if I have an updated version of that kext or if I'm still using the same file.

Did the values for AppleHDA patching changed for 10.10?

That's great! I've been thinking about it some more and got one more idea. How about enabling/disabling all LED indicators under the touchpad (without the one for power button)? Is that possible? Those damn things always irritate me when they mirror on my display while I'm watching something.

The driver works great. With each version it's just getting better and better. : D Outstanding work, EMlyDinEsh! We talked before briefly about the possibility to turn off keyboard LED notification for Num Lock. Is that feature still in the works?

EMlyDinEsh, I've seen here keyboard backlight DSDT implementation, which adds 16 steps of brightness control for it and was thinking if simillar method can be implemented to work with display backlight driver as well?

Do you experience any problems with HD3000 on your rig? Like artifacts or screen freezes due to hangs in graphics engine?

Testing 2.7.5 and it works great! Love the 2nd mode of Fn Keys! My previous right alt not working issue is gone. Also thanks for including option for Context key working as another Cmd key! As far as issues go, so far I've got only one - hot corner still doesn't work for me. Mouse cursor jumps to appropriate corner, but it stays a few pixel shy of the screen border, thus it's not activating assigned function. Besides that I've got one suggestion for keyboard driver to include in next update. I use my numpad keys a lot, but I hate that LED indicator for it. Could you possibly add another function to only disable that LED from turning on?

Dinesh, were you able to successfully create AppleHDA for 10.8.3? Apple changed few things with new driver and I can't get it right. :/

I'm asumming everyone knows how to create installer and/or install OS X and I won't be explaining that. There are a lot of guides you can find around the net about how to install vanilla OS X system (and on this machine you certainly can and I encourage you to do so!). Let's go straight in! Happy hac! As for IOAudioFiamilly - since my ALC269 card has also EAPD node 0x2 at Node 14, I have to use patched IOAudioFamilly to have sound, when my laptop wakes up from sleep. My ALC269 card has following nodes and paths (plus EAPD): Speaker - Node 14 Paths: 20 -> 13 -> 3 (0x14 -> 0x0d -> 0x03) Headphone - Node 21 Paths: 33 -> 12 -> 2 (0x21 -> 0x0c -> 0x02) Internal Mic - Node 19 Paths: 25 -> 35 -> 8 (0x19 -> 0x23 -> 0x08) External Mic - Node 18 Paths: 24 -> 34 -> 9 (0x18 -> 0x22 -> 0x09) If it won't work, I strongly recommend to create your own patched AppleHDA. Well, that's because ATKD is used in ASUS notebooks and you have a DELL, so there is a very high chance that no kexts/fixes/solutions that are designed for ASUS will work on it. EDIT: Your DSDT has Device (PNLF), which enables brightness control in display settings. If you have a slider for brightness there, then it's working. If it's working, check keyboard hotkeys in keyboard's settings for brightness control hotkeys (you can edit those).

Semi works on X73SV. Here's how my system works with and without your kext: Without your kext, when my system boots, the display doesn't use it's max brightnes. I can fully use screen controls rights (17 values, where 0 is no brightnes, 1 minimum brightness and 17 max brightness), however max brighntess control isn't max brightness the display can use (does that make sense?). Max display brightness is only corrected when I put display to sleep and then wake it. That trick always fixes max brightness that my display can use for me. With your kext, when I boot my system, the display still doesn't use it's max brightness. Also brightness controls are kind of broken (not completely). I have 9 brightness values (there is no 0 brightness value and max brightness value still isn't max brightness that the display can can use). Basicaly, out of 17 values i have 9 and when I change brightness up or down some steps are empty values (hope it still does makes sense). Also putting display to sleep doesn't change anything now. Now, I think that it is a desired effect, so I've tried changing plist values of the kext. First I've changed max and min brightness values to the ones I had before installing kext (I checked those with ioregexplorer). However those values did not change after reboot, so I've changed BQC use index to false, but it also has yelded no effects. So my question is, how can I change max and min display brightness and brightness control steps values?

Just tested ver. 1.4 and it works on my X73SV (with enabled HasMediaButtons). You should consider adding appropriate descriptions for DSDT modifications in the first post. It took me a while to figure, that adding "Method SKBL" is for Keyborad Backlight Control and changing "Method _Q0E" and "Method _Q0F" is for Screen Brightness Control. Also I had to change Methods _Q0E and _Q0F by removing "Return (One)" values for it to work plus remove second ")" after (0x..) values, like this: Method (_Q0E, 0, NotSerialized) { If (ATKP) { ^^^^ATKD.IANE (0x20) } } Method (_Q0F, 0, NotSerialized) { If (ATKP) { ^^^^ATKD.IANE (0x11) } } With "Return (One)" values my DSDT compiled with errors (compiler said those methods should not return values). I've also checked other similar methods in my DSDT and they all had the same structure as shown above.

On furhter thinking, I'd recommend adding adding Command mapping to Context key and a plist option to chose what the Context key does -> works like a standard Context key or Fn key or Command key. For example, I'd really like use it as a Command key, as my Fn key functions properly and for Context I use trackapds's two finger pressing or right button.

Great work on those drivers, EMlyDinEsH! So far I've tested the new Keyboard controller. Works like a charm! Since it's possible to change Context key's function to work as a standard Fn key, is it also possible to change F5-F12 functions to work without pressing Fn (like in standard Mac keyboard)? Another thing, is it possible to turn off NumLock LED indicator? I've got it always turn on, but I don't really like the LED indicator. EDIT: Tested the trackpad kext. It also works great! So far I've found only two problems: 1) No matter what I do I can't use Corner Tapping to activate Hot Corner. When I tap my trackpad's corner the cursor jumps to the corner, but not far enough to enable Hot Corner (it stops a few pixels from the corner of the screen border and thus it doesn't enable Hot Corner); 2) Trackpad's one finger tapping seems to work as one finger pressing? When I f.e. tap back button in Finder or Safari it shows me the context menu how far to go back, instead of going back jest once. This works right for trackpad buttons, one tap and it goes back once, press and it shows the menu. Maybe I'm just missing something?
