Back with another issue now.

 

Have with help of the forum crew been able to install macOS Sierra on my Dell Latitude E7450 with discrete nvidia 840m

And during the post installation process and to enable the FN keys to performe volume and brightness controll.

 

I have gotten everything to work except the brightness keys

What i used was 

 

Brightness Control

1. Download and Install Karabiner-Elements
2. Launch Karabiner-Elements
3. Copy karabiner.json to ~/.config/Karabiner   karabiner.json.zip   471bytes   0 downloads
4. Now use F11 & F12 for Brightness, use F1, F2, & F3 for Volumes Control

 

All keys work except F11 and F12 for the brightness controll, how ever karambiner event logger shows the command being sent 

 

 

Currently it feels that the display is a little bit dark compared to the attached monitor i use as well.

Anybody has any ideas on what i could do?

Now it only reports the 1 card we want.

That seems to have broken my wifi, now macos reports no hardware installed for wifi/bluetooth. (using a DW1560 chip)

 

i got the following error message when i did the permission repair and rebuild of the kextcache 

File at path /System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel changed, cannot be used.

error 107 rebuillding /System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/prelinkedkernel

 

Then i rebooted the os's and there was no more wifi avalible (no hardware installed) it said.

 

So i restored the ACPI folder with a backup i had from before i alterered it with the new files i got from you.

And wifi now enabled again, but the discrete is not disable still ofc.

Lets try this time.

i booted to clover and hit F4 but nothing happend so i rebooted back in to OSX and used EFI mounter and compressed the origin folder from there.

hope it is sufficent.

But i did feel a rather big battery drain today when i firsted used it of AC power.
 
i will do what i can to get that ACPI folder shortly

I am using the latest macOS installer from appstore, 

I will have the compressed Origin folder uploaded today, was travelling for a few days.

 

 

EDIT: Redone the usb installer and now it worked fine, did not need to disable optimus in bios (not possible)

did not need to patch the DST to disable it (might have occured manuallly)

Unfortuently i dont have an option to disable the nvidia card (optimus within the bios settings)

Does anybody know of a bios version that allows this or if there is anyway to disable it with uefi shell?

I am attempting to install macOS Sierra on my e7450 with discrete nvidia 840 and intel 5500 as per guide:

It's refering to changing the DVMT in the guide to ensure windows reports 96mb. Mine currently reports 128, bios reports 64
and using setup_var 0x15b in uefi shell shows that  it is set to 0x03. I get the Prohibitory symbol on boot after using the stick that was created. A15 Bios version.

And wondering if anybody could have any idea on what i am doing wrong.
