  1. 8.1 should support GPT... you have to reformat the partition via the installer, commit changes, and reboot, boot the installer again and install win 8.1 to that partition. Also, if that doesn't work, look up got sync, this tool will help you make a got/mbr hybrid that should boot both if the above doesn't work.

  2. Try holding one of the other modifier keys, I've noticed that sometimes they either get mixed up by the system, or that it'll force it to show up. I have this issue as well, but holding the command key as well solves it for me (no clue why). This problem also seems to be a 10.9.2 specific problem, as it worked before for me.

  3. All, OP Updated with 10.9.2 update and merged my and Jake Lo's Bootpack, tested and it boots on my fathers identical model fine.

@queper no need to replace your extra with this one, yours is almost as up to date. Maybe just compare it to yours as it contains a newer FakeSMC and a couple of other things...

@Jake Lo, what exactly does the DisableTurboBoost.kext do for your battery, is it an impressive difference? Also, in your boot.plist, do you use the kernal cache or not? I found that my shutdown/restart only work with that as no...

  4. A fellow user found this over on the D models, try it:

Alright, so after some fiddling around I think I got the sleep issue resolved!  :-)

What I had to do was to remove AppleACPIPlatform.kext from the Extras folder and leave the original one alone in S/L/E (10.9.2 installs a new AppleACPIPlatform.kext, even if you removed it previously). Then I ran myFix full with myHack and native sleeping is resolved, albeit going to actual sleep takes a little longer than previously.

I was encouraged here to always remove the AppleACPIPlatform.kext that is in S/L/E because it sometimes causes slow or unresponsive restart and shutdown.

If I leave AppleACPIPlatform.kext both in Extras and S/L/E then sleep doesn't work. The same goes if I leave it in Extras and delete the one in S/L/E. The only way to fix is it to remove the one in Extras and leave the one in S/L/E.

I will test this out for awhile and see if I run into issues. Atm, restart and shutdown seem to both function fine, as long as everything else.

  5. EDP is the program that autobuilds certain (supported machines, the compatabillity list at the top of this page.) What you need to do to get support is go to the dorum page and go to post installation or installation (whichever you need help with) and post a new forum (make sure to check for duplicates first!!!!) Or if there is a premade guide, use that. Best of luck. Oh and make sure to put your computers names and specs in your post so we know what we are dealing with. (Dont post priblems on this thread)

  6. For SD Card driver, try the E6410 SD Card thread (just google it) and try the VoodooSDHC,kext and follow instructions in that thread. This may however prevent deep sleep not normal sleep, so if you run into that problem later, it is probably related to that.

For touch screen, google OSX Surface pro and open the tonycrap forum and somewhere in that thread there is a software to calibrate almost all touchscreen on osx, if you can't find it, I can.

    Good Luck!!!

  7. Hello, so it seems that your extra folder did not transfer for some reason... try booting the hdd, with -x, if that works copy the files and run myfix. If not boot with -s, and plug in your USB, and run the first two commands that the screen tells you to, then type sudo cp \volumes\Name of usb\extra \extra, then type myfix -t and reboot.
