I Have Multi-Touch!!!!!! Sort of... use this (very similar to Rehab Man Merge, minor fixes for scrolling, no track stick scrolling, maybe I could merge with @yeahoon? (PM me)

Install this kext (and follow VoodooPS2 Instructions, no need to update if you already have the daemon and stuff) and go to "System Preferences" ==> Keyboard ==> Shortcuts ==> Mission Control ==>

1. Click the mission control check and make sure it is checked, then click where the shortcut goes, then push 3 fingers up on the trackpad.

2. Make Show Dashboard the 3 finger right

3. Make 3 finger left show notification center

4. Make 3 finger down show desktop

 

Finally!!! They are (Somewhat) glitchy, but they work, this is a BETA, don't blame me if its glitchy, but it is a fix.

 

Now all I have to do is reassign the shortcut to the natural system shortcut and get the Trackpad PrefPane to natively support it...

 actually drop ssdt skips ssdt loading... remove that and try. but you have to have a specific goal when patching, it wont turn performance, if you want turned performance there is a link to performance turning at the bottom of the page.

Ok... that makes sense, will try E/E when I get home. ok. If a kext works well, is it ok to install it to /S/L/E/?

 

Also just fun. I made an extensions Alias and Placed a folder called "s" that contains a folder called "l" and then the alias renamed "e" so I don't have to type out /system/library/extensions/, just /s/l/e/.

This is what I'm currently using on my E6420. PhotoBooth, HDMI video+Audio are working. Don't know protector suite, is that for the figure sensor? My system don't have that and I'm able to find a working app for it on the models that does have it.

By the way, what's the resolution of your display?

If it's greater than 1366x768, don't use my DSDT. I'll upload an different if that's the case.

Thank you. Do you have the model with NVidia? I have Intel 3000 only 1366x768x32, the SNB Kext didn't give me HDMI Video out, and after installing the DSDT, the system seemed sluggish? It was very strange, multiple reboots later, it still seems slow, and the graphics like Launchpad are glitchy. I installed it using Kext beast, is that ok?

 

Also @all this is a modified version of VoodooSDHC that Jake Lo helped me figure out how to edit, it get SD reader and eject working.

I hadn't thought of track stick much, but (as multitouch is harder than originally anticipated), I will implement that. I don't really want to post anything up yet as I lost keyboard and trackpad randomly on one reboot ): Still needs work. 

 

Good news for multitouch! It is "working" 3 finger now not only fires off, but is recognized by the system and just will move from selected file to file in a finder window! How do you enable the vanilla multitouch trackpad PrefPane? Or could someone find the VoodooPS2 multitouch PrefPane (If it exists). Option 2 is to Port over the Synaptics version... more work than the latter.

This contains my SSDT and my DSDT, as well as my AppleIntelSNBGraphics.kext, when I try to patch the kext, after install, it says that it is unusable. Could you help me patch it as well as my DSDT?

 

Also, what exactly is an SSDT?

 

Also as we briefly discussed on the E6410 SD forum, I am trying to patch the VoodooSDHC.kext for this model, but should I use the newer project VoodooSDHCI.kext instead?

 

Next, as Protector Suite does not work on this laptop, are there any other programs/kexts that anyone has found that enable it (or might enable it  ).

 

Oh, and just a small bug, but the Web cam doesn't work in photo booth, fine in face time and camera control, but no luck in photo booth, anyone know of a fix?

 

After this, all that is left is multitouch and this laptop will be fully functional.

 

On the topic of multitouch, I have the finger z thing fixed, and better scrolling, and am working on implementing some other stuff... Should be done really soon.

Wow. @yeahoon, you beat me to it (: Did you branch this off of the Github? If not, make a Github branch and see if they will integrate it to the master branch.

Thank you all for your help, but alas it was unrecoverable. I restored from time machine.

Have you edited custom video connector information? Is your Video card recognized as the correct type?

 

Your processor problem might have something to do with multiple core, boot with cpus=1. And see if it gets the same results, if so, it isn't using multiple cores and I might have an idea to fix that.

I will get it posted when I get home today, thanks. The DSDT edit it said to look for GFX0 or IGPU with the certain device address, and I found the address, but its device ID is "_VID". What does that mean?

I was not able to recover it and was unable to recover the files, I restored with Time Machine, and redownloaded the source. How do you compile the finished project as x64/x86 or is that even an option anymore in xcode? And as for the building of the kext, it has many dependent kexts built in, but when I compiled it, it left the internal kexts uncompiled! But the main kext compiled fine?

 

I have a build that is a slightly modified Rehabman merge that adds finger-z persistence across reboot, but it isn't quite ready.

 

Also, In a dual boot with windows, how do you resize the partitions? OSX can't do it from disk utility.

Agreed. Scrolling on the right works way better, but try putting your fingers further apart when scrolling, that helped me.

If you can find an SSDT for your laptop, it would probably help your situation. I was unable to find one, but there is almost always some obscure thread that has one. (:

 

Also did you use the rehabmanmerge file or the ALPS v7?

 

The Merge is the newest version.

 

Did you ever test HDMI?

I assume that is is an ALPS, but I don't know of an easy way to verify that.  Looking at the EDP and recommendations from Herve (sorry about the missing accent mark) ANV/Slice is supposed to work...

 

Anyone have any ideas on how to start debugging this?

 

Install the release version of this kext using your favorite kext installer, then place the release folder on the desktop and follow these instructions;

 

Drop the Voodoosynapticspane.prefpane in /extra/inclue/prefpanes/ (If that folder isn't there check around your extra folder and find the profane folder)

 

Open Terminal and paste this in;

 

Sudo rm -R /system/library/extesions/AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext

Sudo rm -R /system/library/extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext

Cd desktop

cd release

sudo rm VoodooPS2Daemon /usr/bin

sudo rm synapticsconfigload /usr/bin

 

Also remove AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext and ApplePS2Controller.kext from /extra/extensions

 

Ignore Myhack.kext stuff.

 

Reboot with "-v"

 

If keyboard and mouse work, there you go! If not give us the log file, then we can help. It should at least recognize the device.

And after some research... It "supports" mavericks.

It was on fact Mavericks on one, ML on one and SL on the other. All x64

RGB output? You mean VGA? If so just Google it. Intel4000 VGA output it requires a DSDT patch.

What type of trackpad do you have? Synaptic, ALPS or Elan? If Synaptic check out the awesome main branch of VoodooPS2 by RehabMan, it has 3 and even 4 finger touch support, install it to extra extensions. If ALPS Google E6530 ALPS trackpad and install the kext to extra extensions. iDK much about the Elan

Meh. Do you have VGA and HDMI output working? That is a main use of patching. If you have some unrecognized devices some DSDT patches can make them recognizable, also getting trackpad working out of sleep could be a DSDT problem, are you also using a SSDT? That is more sleep related.

 

Also (I'm a trackpad kext guy) Do you have an ALPS or a Synaptic trackpad? If synaptic, try RehabMans VoodooPS2, it even has 3 finger touch! If ALPS check out the E6520 ALPS driver (just Google it) and try the merge and or the v7, it isn't as deviled, but I am working on it.
