[Solved] Inspiron 3558: help installing Mojave
Watermelon Jello replied to Watermelon Jello's topic in The Archive
I tried reinstalling Clover for UEFI boot mode and also set my bios for UEFI, but it still wouldn't show up. So I tried a workaround by going into the BIOS and manually adding the boot option, titling it "USB External Drive" and setting the path as "\EFI\BOOT\BOOT64.efi" for the drive and now I'm just getting a black screen. I have attached the updated drive Folder with @dirtyb15's suggestions, minus the OS itselfDrive.zip -

@dirtyb15 Sounds good, how do I convert my USB drive to boot as UEFI? -
@Jake Lo Building on our previous exchanges here, I think I have everything, but I'm still getting the error that the USB is unbootable - I have attached the EFI Folder below with the reinstalled clover files. Am I missing anything? My computer is also on the A18 BIOS version and sorting the flash drive through Legacy Boot. EFI.zip

Ok, also, as a side question, would that Mojave bootpack work for OS X Sierra? If not, can you please post one for the Inspiron 3558 if you have one? Thanks -

I went ahead and tried that, but now it's just showing a black screen without booting into clover. I have attached the updated EFI folder below EFI_2.zip -

When I try to boot from the USB drive, it either doesn't show up or it says the boot drive failed. What files would you need to help me solve this? -

Also, I'm a little confused n some terminology. What is a bootloader and how does it fit into the installation process? -
Does this laptop support hackintosh? Please Help. I am aware of the other forum post, but my laptop is slightly different, so I'm not sure that it will still support MacOS Sierra. I have attached the DxDiag DxDiag.zip
