I want to share my observations about touchpad issues.

I used a bootpack from this tread to boot Mojave 10.14.3 on my SkayLake based Latitude 7480. Unfortunately I don't remember build version of Mojave.

The trackpad did not worked until DarwinFix was applied in Clover config. I installed Mojave update version 18D109 later. After update I got Touchpad broken. After some time I removed DarvinFix and got the touchpad functionality back 🤪. So, to me the track pad issues (when VoodooI2C kext work for some peoples while it doesn't work for others) is also depends on OS build version and ACPI patches in clover.

Now I wonder if you guys managed to get backlight adjustment work properly. I use AppleBacklightFixup.kext but the best I could get was 100% brightness, with a non-working slider :-(. Actually the backlight has 2 states depends on the slider position - Full brightness and no backlight at all. I have followed AppleBacklightFixup instructions down to the letter but no success.

I done nothing but copy @catmater's config and got my backlight working very nicely, you should try that.

Fix problem with error after reboot or poweroff.

Just delete from drivers64UEFI - EmuVariableUefi-64.efi and some unused drivers.

here all files on this directory in original

    Here files after delete

    Is this enough ?

    I read this

    image.png.259af56ae0c975982f6925f58a77f5c9.png

    And i use VirtualSMC.

I must say I did ask myself about the amount of drivers you had in your configs, especially since I only had 5 of them on my last install. But Should I try and delete those extra drivers too ?

inject right layot  in conf, and put codeccommander.kext in to SLE , and rebuild cache

i put the code commander in L/E because of some problem in permissions in my the backlight works due to that (i think!).
is my layout different form yours because i didn't try to change anything. And how the hell did you make HDMI work on an smbios with 4 thunderbolts??

Try rebooting a couple of times.

post debug files if still fails

Thanks I did make the touchpad and backlight work. the problem now is that HDMI just freezes the computer the instant I insert it. I am using @catmater latest posted here config.

an other issue is that the trackpad is not recognized by macOs thus can't use the nice gestures of switching between the virtual desktops.
here are my debug files ( I don't have an EFI partition yet so I always boot from USB ).

Internal card in 7480 - intel. No support for Intel wifi card exist. Only alfa glitch project.

ah, changing it would necessary then, :(
but what about the touchpad, and backlight, does your most recent config fix those ? cause they are not working right now. ( I am yet to install those "to L/E kexts" to L/E)

So, im sucsessfully upgrade my high sierra 10.13.6 to mojave 10.14.3 on Dell latitude 7480.

CPU: DualCore Intel Core i7-7600U, 3900 MHz

    MB: Intel Kaby Lake-U

    Video: Intel HD Graphics 620

    Sound: Realtek ALC256

SSD: SK hynix SC311 SATA 256GB

    Display: 2560 x 1440

Use new bootpack and standart upgrade procedure to mojave from appstore installer.

    Work almost all:

    CPU stepping, thermosensor, sleep, etc.

Video with HDMI output,  2560 x 1440, double screen, cloning, etc.

Sound speaker stereo, loud and quality.

    Headphones sound in jack.

    Mic (Siri also work)

Touchpad with some two fingers gesture

    Full level backlight

Wifi and bluetooth (card replace with dw1560 - BCM94352Z)

    Ethernet card

    USB port (all 3 usb)

    Touchscreen

    Smartcard reader

    Not working

    Biometric fingerprint sensor

    cardreader

    NFC

Here is full working config: download

Very-very grateful for the support to Jake Lo ! You are a man

thanks, will surely see it later. But have anybody had their DiskUtility crashing in the installer when trying to format a drive and rendering that drive unallocated. now I can't mount the drive because it is in a raw fs in order to format it, my system EFI partition keeps getting deleted each time I try and fail to format the drive (can't see why but they are on the same drive, so) and thus not being able to reach windows to allocate and format the partition again.

    Why would disk utility crash.

Did you have apfs filesystem support in clover drivers64UEFI  (ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi , or something like that)?

Apfs is default file system start from High Sierra for SDD disk. HFS+ converted automatic in apfs during upgrade

I used your config which had those drivers. My problem right now is that I can't boot my windows installation to reformat my second partition as NTFS. apparently I lost the boot option to windows, I don't know how but it happened. I may need to fix windows boot first, then format my SSD partition and go back to the installer.

  8. I must say it worked,

I got into the booting, but I can't pick my volume to install on. The volume is there (in diskUtil) but greyed. I can't format it as diskutil crashes when I do so. the problem is that it's stated as Apple_HFS format which I don't remember formatting as.

In all cases, I must say it's something obvious to verify your installation media before trying the install, but I guess I had so much fait in mine (it dates from May 2018 in fact)

Disable the drive and see if you could boot up the USB installer.

I had the issue on PM981 and needs to be replace with a supported drive, but unsure of PM961.

I disabled the drive and the problem persisted, I assume it's my USB installer. Very weird because I already did boot the installer before on the same laptop like hours before this error came up.

    I'll create a new Installer.

    @Nancy10

Make sure you set BIOS as this

Set to Default, apply, then set SATA Operations to AHCI, set Boot List Option to UEFI, Disable Secure boot

I did that and it didn't work. how can i fix this ? like it says disk2s1 error, and i only have 2 disks the internal and the us drive: is it the internal it is having a problem with ? or the usbdrive ?

EDIT  : Could the windows OEM REcovery Partition be the problem ?

  11. if it's not the 4K alignment, what could the disk error be ?

EDIT : it seems it couldn't mount the disk2. I had this error before but it was after the installation already started (when choosing the drive to install on).

I am running windows on the same SSD already and I have a petition formatted to NTFS (don't think that is a problem right ?).
