  1. Hey everyone, I have been jumping around between devices because I have a few spares laying around. Currently I am working on the Dell D430 Core Duo and was able to install Lion successfully to the machine. During the initial setup everything but the touchpad and brightness seemed to work. Ran the 2.1 EDP and did most of the fixes, but now when I boot the machine the pinwheel spins for a while then gets to a point where it freezes in every position of the pinwheel making it completely black. It doesn't look like it is doing anything at this point on the screen, but the hard drive light is going crazy. Any thoughts here of how to boot into the system? Any boot switches I might be missing here? Thanks!
  2. So here is something interesting - I wiped the drive on my D630 and am planning on doing dual boot. SL and Lion. I installed SL with no issues, but when I booted I did not have Wifi there either. This is a standard card that I have in my E1505 (SL 10.6.3) and it works great. Any thoughts as to what might be going on here? The machine originally had windows 7 on it with the Wifi working so I don't think it is a bad card. Will put Lion on it later on so that I can continue testing on both sides quickly.
  3. Yeah, I just did the EDP2.1 for D630 with NVIDIA. Then I believe I did the Apple ps/2 kexts (first one listed) and then yes for everything else.
  4. Would this enable the wifi? I think after a few random reboots it cleared the KP on boot issue because of the external monitor, but that is good to know. Getting this thing online is in question now. Any thoughts?
  5. Whoops, yes sorry, probably should have listed that! I have the Nvidia card yes. Used myHack and EDP2.1. The one thing I just did that caused a KP was booting while connected to a VGA external monitor. Are you having this same issue as well? I can't get it to boot without KPing even with the VGA cable unplugged.
  6. Hey everyone. Got Lion 10.7 (no updates yet) on my Core 2 duo D630 this morning. Got the audio working just recently and had good luck with everything else. The only thing I can't figure out is the Ethernet and Wifi. I have the Dell 1395 I believe inside, does that need to be rebranded? If so, then there should be no problems here. Just curious if anyone had a few spare kexts around that might assist with those two items. Other than that, everything runs pretty smoothly. Great job guys on EDP 2.1!
  7. Thanks for the files and help! I installed the new AppleIntelIntegrated kext, however, it is still super dim when the machine boots. I can use Fn+F12 to raise the brightness and once it is at full brightness it stops flickering, but it was like that before. Sorry, should have mentioned I was looking to have this fixed on boot. I did check the bios and that has been off since my first build with this model. (10.6.7 D430) Anyway, the other two issues I have seen were: - I still cannot scroll, and I am using the latest EDP with the above kext selection - When it is plugged in to the AC adapter it deep sleeps fine, but if it is on battery and the lid is closed then it stays running, the screen sleeps but then has to be powered off in order to resolve the issue. Any help is appreciated, thanks everyone!
  8. Upgraded to 10.6.8 and looks good! 2 things - flickering monitor all the time (not hardware related because it only starts when the OS loads), including the brightness issue (near full dim on boot) And second, scrolling stopped working! I saw that replacing the appleframebuffer kext fixes some issues with the monitor, but leon's link is 404'd, can someone zip/email/link me the file? Any thoughts on scrolling - d430 core duo 10.6.8 edp 1.9 with the voodoo ps2 i believe. Not looking at it now but it was the first option during the edp kext modificaton. Thanks! Matt
