I just put Lion on my asus g51jx-x5 laptop. Runs sweet, I used this guide http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=263949. Gonna update to 10.7.2 right now.

did it work Andy? Sometimes I have to reboot 3 or 4 times before lion successfully reboots.

Does this kext fix occasional kp's that voodoohda causes when booting into lion?

I have 1 and ended up replacing it with a broad com one...

did you either change the wifi card or disable it in bios?

so your res is 1440 x 900 ? If so which graphics card do you have nvidia or intel? It will say in the bios. I have dsdst for both graphics,let me know which one you need .

Go into bios and under device info check what your graphic resolution is.If it's 1440 x 900 then you will need a hi res dsdt.

For a d630 you need to replace your wifi card with a broadcom unit (can be purchased on ebay for cheap).Goto the wiki and use the guide for either snow leopard or lion.

I took a hi res screen from a dell d620 and currently have it on my intel d630.It was plug and play.... just be sure to pop your hi res dsdt into e/e before shutting down and installing.

Can anybody find me a dsdt for lion with d630 with nvidia 135m @1440x900 res,core 2 duo 2.5 ghz, dell a17 bios. Would be very much appreciated. Don't worry about it... I decided to stick with the intel d630 with the hi res graphics instead.Just need to swap cpus... Found a dsdt for nvidia hi res and it's all good,in fact I am posting on it right now !!! Thanks to the core team !!!

I have an optional install package from an earlier install I did last year on my asus g51jx laptop that works well on both d620 and d630. If some body wants it I can upload it for all to use.But I don't have a hosting ...

I just replace the wifi cards on d630's.You can get one for 10 - 15 bucks on ebay.

using edp 1.92 you can select 1 of 4 possible choices for keyboard/trackpad.Try each until one of them works. If not i can give you an optional package for it that i got from a my hack install package.As far as wireless you need to grab one from ebay.

You can use carbon copy cloner to clone your 60 to your 500,then rerun chamemeon to be able to boot the new hardrive. then you can run comboupdate 10.6.8 and rerun edp before final reboot.

nvidia works too.I prefer my glossy screen ... so back to 1280x800.

LCD swap will work ,you only need the dsdt for the hi res.

Ribbon is attached to lcd and it fits in the same connector on the mobo. Sweeetttt.If any body can give me a link to a dsdt for nvidia high res,bios a17, with 2.5ghz cpu it would be greatly appreciated.then i can test the nvidia d630 too.

I couldn't find a link to an nvidia based high res dsdt so i popped the high res lcd on my intel based d630 and it worked !!!! I am running lion on the 1440x900 lcd.Used this dsdt from osxlattitude "1440x900_dsdt.aml".Good to know we can swap screens easily.

bios shows 1440x900 ... booting into lion now...black screen
