  1. I tried running the edptool by typing edptool.command or just edptool from the Extra folder, or inside the Document folder. Always saying command not found.

One question, when I run EDP and it is installed, it always open a terminal window. After closing this terminal, I can not locate the EDP in the Applications or Utilities. During install, it only gives me a choice to select " Snow Leopard" . Should I be able to see EDP somewhere?

Is there another way to run the EDP and link it to Extra? I am going to try installing it to the USB drive where I have the Extra folder and see what happens.

    Thanks.

Finally sound is working, by running EDP and installing it in the same USB drive where the Extra folder was.

    Thanks for your guidance.

  2. make sure that terminal is not running before executing the command edptool

  3. install edp to the mac partition when it finishes go to /Extra folder and run edptool.command it should prompt for your password then do option 1 and build for d620-intel

Ok, I ran EDP and installed it in Snow Leopard partition. When it finishes, it opens a terminal where I see the 1-4 choices. No where to type any command. So I close it.

Then I moved the Extra to Documents. Open a terminal, type CD Extra, then type ls to see the contents. I see two files and Themes folder there. From here I type the edptool.cmmand , and it says command not found. Do not know what to do now.

Thank you for your patience here as I understand these are simple/basic knowledge that I do not have.

  4. Your Intel PRO Wireless Card will not work with Snow Leopard, since Apple never used that card in their machines and there is no kext for it. There are Broadcom cards made for your model that will work in Mac OS X (Dell Wireless 1490 Dual Band). Good luck!

Any advice on how to get the sound working? I have been at this hackintosh for alomost a month!

    Thanks

  5. yes it uses extra folder but once up and running you have to build edp for your d620 so it can grab some audio kexts from s/l/e... i have that model and it works.

So what do I have to do to get the sound working for now? Please guide me as I am a newbie with zero MAC experience.

    Thanks again.

The instructions on this site says to run the EDP from the USB drive, with the EXTRA folder extracted on the root of USB drive. When I ran the EDP 1.9, I just downloaded from the website and ran it. What I am asking does EDP use any files from the EXTRA folder?

    Thanks again.

When I was typing the above, the laptop went to sleep, and when awaken it had a kernel panic. After shut down, and reboot it booted in OS without even asking for my password.

  7. which machine is it? put your specs in you signature.....

  8. re install edp and build for your machine.

Ok, I did the EDP again by downloading the 1.9 version from this site directly into desktop. ( My usb was not working in safe mode). Ran it, and now I do not get any kernel panic and it boots in OS perfectly. Sound is not working. How do I get the sound working?

    Many thanks.

  9. Using iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) CD and retail Snow Leopard 10.6 retail DVD ( I do not have a mac or 8GB USB drive), I installed the OS.

    Then I did the steps:

    4. Install EDP ( In MS Windows, I just added the Extra folder unpacked, and the EDP. Then plugged it in the Hackintosh to install the EDP with)

    5. Install Bootloader (Chameleon) from EDP

    6. Install 10.6.8 update

    5. Reboot

When rebooted, I got the kernel panic. Booted with "-x" gets me to the OS and desktop. I have not been able to get here for ever.

The OS reports 10.6.8. The touch pad very sticky, no sound device. Ethernet is there. System wakes from sleep, but no dash board or anything else on the desktop. When running EDP, I chose the safest options.

Please help me on what may be wrong, and how to fix it. Attached is the picture of the kernel panic.

    Thank you.

  10. I am starting new with this site, please excuse my ignorance. When I create a usb drive, should I use the bootpack as given for D620 with Intel GMA from

    http://www.osxlatitude.com/supported-models/

The instructions on Creating a USB drive in Methode # 1 , step 3 says to use the bootloader , and on the bottom of the page is the Chameleon bootloader attached.

So, I am confused between bootpack chameleon , and EDP. Should I use the bootpack after the OS is loaded, or use the EDP?

Thank you for your guidance here.

  11. Hello,

I would appreciate if some one could help me. I have followed the instructions given on tonycrapx86 site for Snow Leopard using Retail DVD, also I have followed the videos provided on that site.

    http://tonycrapx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded)-multifail-install-mac-os-x-on.html

I have no experience with writing software, do not own a MAC. I do know how to install MS windows and PC drivers. For educational purposes, I would like to install MAC OS on this laptop, one hard drive and one partition for now.

Using iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded), after many experiments, I have noticed that it takes 20-25 minutes to get to the setup screen and all this time the LCD is blank, and it is better not to touch anything on the laptop as it never finishes.

I have installed the retail DVD, and got into Snow Leopard desktop. Everything is nice and stable, screen resolution is set to max, no WiFi, no Ethernet. I have sound when I play various sounds in the Utlities, but can not hear an audio CD. applied the combo 10.6.8 update, ran the multifail with the options outlined in the video. A But after restart and when laptop boots up, I see a glowing icon for Snow Leopard. I click on it to boot MAC OS, and I see the apple logo, then I see the kernel panic and small windows in few languages to power down. I have tried the -x , but no help. I have also done the Repair Permission

I have gone through this process many times, I feel like it is so close to working, but my knowlege is extremely low. I do not know if I need to get drivers or some other things is wrong.

I would really appreciate if some one with the same Latitude D620 ( Intel GMA950, Intel Pro 3945ABG, Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx, Sigmatel audio ) can walk me through. Like I said, I can get the os and update installed but then I lose everything on restart or using multifail and restart.
