Well there is only one other partition the s4 Lion partition. I tried installing chameleon their, and still the same result boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: done then nothing. I did find an old usb pen drive with a bootable OSX on it. If I boot off of it, I gets the same 4 boot0 messages and then the pen drive takes over. From their I can select the SL s2 partition and it does boot up very slowly but fine once it up, and I can then eject the pen drive. I just don't get why I can't boot directly off the hard drive.

Its GUID #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *160.0 GB disk1 1: EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1 2: Apple_HFS First 90.0 GB disk1s2 3: Apple_HFS Lion 16.2 GB disk1s3 4: Apple_HFS Lion 2 53.3 GB disk1s4 s2 is the SL partition. s4 is Lion. I don't use the LION much since it tends to crash a fair amount. s3 is a small partition I used in constructing s4. Haven't tried a usb boot, don't have an appropriate one at the moment. When I reinstalled chameleon I specified the s2 partition.

I tried 2.1. I ran it from the Macbook and when it asked me what destination I chose the slice that had the SL on the D620 disk.

I have a D620 running Snow Leopard. via EDP. I also have a Macbook Pro running ML. I used migration assistant to copy some apps from the hackintosh to the Macbook. It seemed to work and the Macbook is fine but now the D620 dies with boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: done on boot. I've seen this reported elsewhere and tried several of the suggestions, but none has worked. In particular I have taken the D620 drive out and attached via USB to the Macbook and tried: reinstalling chameleon on the SL slice with the chameleon installer. using dd to copy boot1 onto the SL slice removing all the .SM.gul* files on the SL slice. None of this made a bit of difference. Any other suggestions?

I noticed that EDP3 supports ML. Will it work on a D620 with Intel GMA graphics. As I recall Apple doesn't support the GMA on ML, but wondered if EDP3 works around it.

I have a D620 with a disk that has both 10.6 and 10.7 on it (I can boot either)? I want to clone the 10.7 to a smaller disk, which I want to be bootable. The smaller disk is connected through a USB adapter. Whats the best way to do this?

What is your memory configuration ?, does it help if you boot with just one stick 2.5GB. .5GB inside, 2GB outside. I can't really do this experiment without taking the keyboard off, -- I didn't rerun edptool again after the 10.7.2 update before the reboot. Don't really see how I could of since it really installs the update on the way down. From memory, I'm using option 3 for PS2 (1 and 2 had problems), nullpower, sleepenabler, voodobattery (I think), and speedstep. (By the way it would be nice if edptool logged what choices were made on last run)

I'm on a D620 GMA. I did the edp 2.1 to 2.2 update without a problem. Then I got ambitious and let OSX upgrade to 10.7.2. Now it crashes on boot, I can do a single user boot, but when I let it go multiuser it crashes with "TLB invalidation IPI timeout, CPUS failed to respond to interrupts unresponsive CPU bitmap". Any ideas on how to recover from this?

Yes, I know about the password in BIOS. I had this working on SL. I'm just wondering if the instructions in http://www.osxlatitude.com/getting-sleep-to-work-on-your-dell/ are still necessary, or if the EDP "sleepenabler option" does all the configuration except setting the password. In addition I'm confused since https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/794-mac-os-x-lion-install-guide-for-d620/ says sleepenabler doesn't work.

Yes, beta 2.2 solved the ethernet issue, thanks! It also has GMA950 brightness fix working. So the next thing I have to resolve going from SL to Lion is the sleep issue. Is anything known to work? Previously I had used the http://www.osxlatitude.com/getting-sleep-to-work-on-your-dell/ instructions on SL. Now I see EDP has a sleepenabler option. Is that a substitute for the OSX side of the manual instructions? Does either work on D620/GMA950/Lion?

Of course I am running EDP 2.1. Ethernet does show up in network settings, but it says no cable is connected. However, in fact the router shows link. Also the little led's on the D620 ethernet jack light up. The one closer to the case edge stays on while the interior led blinks. Ifconfig does not show en0. I can dual boot this D620 to SL. Ethernet works fine when I boot to SL (with EDP 1.9). Ifconfig shows en0, network settings shows connected, outer led is off, inner one blinks. Any ideas? I've seen some postings about editing some config files else where, but I thought EDP 2.1 took care of it. One symptom of no ethernet is apparently that the app store won't validate (I do have wifi working).

Is there a EDP ethernet fix for Lion on the D620 coming?

I'm running SL on a D620/GMA950. It definitely has a core 2 duo, but the Lion install application (step 1) says I don't. About this Mac confirms that its a core 2 duo. I am running SL in 32 bit mode admins-Mac-Pro$ uname -a Darwin admins-Mac-Pro.local 10.7.0 Darwin Kernel Version 10.7.0: Sat Jan 29 15:17:16 PST 2011; root:xnu-1504.9.37~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 so I guess this is the issue. Do I need to get SL running in 64 bit mode, before I can upgrade to Lion? How would I do that?

Does the "sleep" trick (using the firmware password) work in Lion? What about playing DVD video?

I'm running 10.6.x and EDP 1.9 on a D620 with GMA950 graphics. I would like to Upgrade to Lion + EDP2.1. I still have a legitimate copy of InstallESD.dmg from my mac mini upgrade. I know there are threads on installing Lion, but none that I found that speak specifically of doing this with EDP. The threads are generally about early attempts with a lot of back and forth about variations to deal with issues involving drivers and editing config files. Also, its not clear to me if I can do an upgrade or have to wipe out my running system. Is there a particular thread I should look at?

Just upgraded to 1.6 from 1.5 on d620-intel graphics. This time I picked the beta trackpad option. Unfortunately it still does not honor mouse keys, so the trackpad is always live. My thumb has knocked me out of the window twice just typing this message. It doesn't seem like any of the trackpad drivers address this.

I'm having trouble with restart after closing the lid. When I open the lid, and type the firmware password the desktop comes back briefly and then goes to the you must power down and restart box. I think this used to work, but doubt this has much to do with EDP changes. This is on a D620 GMA laptop. It happens if I'm running safari and Mail, but not if I'm only running one of them. Is there some limit to how much VM it can save?

RC6 seems fine on my D620 GMA running 10.6.6, with the exception that there is still no way to turn off the trackpad (with voodops2) while typing.

Yes, I'm afraid all I did was replace the EDP rc5 VoodooPS2.kext with the post #4 version. What else should I do?

I'm running EDP 1.5 rc5 (OSX 10.6.6) on a D620 Intel. The problem is that with voodoops2 doesn't show as a trackpad, so there is no way to turn off stray trackpad input during text input. I tried replacing that voodops2 with Bronxteck's second version in this thread. It does in fact show as a trackpad. However, for the trackpad to track I need to unselect "use 2 fingers to scroll', and I get no trackpad scrolling. With 2 fingers selected the cursor doesn't move at all without 2 fingers. Any suggestions?

I'm running RC5/10.6.6 on an Intel D620 and it seems to be working fine. (RC4 died on boot). Sleep and DVD are both working. My one problem is with accidentally touching the trackpad while typing and moving the insertion point. Right now I've selected VoodooPS2controller, but I had the same problem previously with the Apple PS2controller. With Voodoo there are some trackpad options in the universal preference but not previously with the straight PS2. Still I don't see a trackpad in "about this Mac" and the trackpad preference menu is empty. Apparently the usual trick to get around the trackpad interfering with text input is to enable mouse keys and select the ignore trackpad when mouse keys are enabled. That doesn't work presumably since it doesn't think my trackpad is a trackpad. Any suggestions?

I have an D620 with Intel graphics that ran 10.6.5 with EDP 1.5rc4 properly. I updated to 10.6.6 and it dies at boot with a CPU mismatch error in PM. I backed out to EDP 1.4 still running the updated to 10.6.6. and it seems to be ok. So something in EDP 1.5rc4 is interacting with 10.6.6.

Is there any progress on getting both SLEEP and DVD playback to work on 10.6? I can get one or the other depending on which distribution I use, but not both.
