  1. Strange, you and ckleea are the only 2 I know with same model and hardware but unable to gain full QE/CI no matter what we'd try, but no issue reported by any other members here with the same models.

I believe the post you mention is regarding Broadwell system needing a minimum of 64MB of dedicated video ram or 96MB DVMT pre-allocated in BIOS to enable full QE/CI for HD 5500/5300/6000...I don't think that applies here for this model, but you could certainly try. Your BIOS should be showing 64MB or in Windows, under advanced display settings.

You might want to try different ig-platform-id. Booting with

    DSDT=0 -v -f IntelAzulFB=<value>

    value = 0 -> 16

I just had a thought. What version of Chameleon are you using? I remember the newer version has HD 4400/4600 with fakeID of 0412 integrated which caused some issue for me. I'll verify what version I was using when I get to the office tomorrow.

Maybe you should move on to Clover...

    Yes, Jake.

I am unable to do so after numerous attempts

    I gave up.

  2. I am not sure if my E7240 is of any difference from all other users here.

I am not able to boot the USB installer created using Jake's detailed instruction. Hence, I am still unable to install Yosemite.

Mine is a E7240 i7-4600U FHD touch. Don't know if my machine is hardware or version different from those you have,

I use Yosemite all stuff work. attach my EFI folder, kexts, and Clover config.plist

In ZIP file kext section contains 3 separated kext i install these to /S/L/E with kext wizard.

Also i delete from config plist my serial, MLB, ROM, etc, generate your own in Clover Configurator SMBIOS section.

Put complete EFI folder from archive to EFI partition on your DELL...

    Clover EFI folder Here!

Thanks, Interesting. You have an additional AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.Kext

Are you following the clover installation in this thread?

  4. From any working real mac run iMessageDebug script on real working mac, (iMac, MacBoo, MacMini, etc...) generate onr txt contains real MLB and ROM number.

Put the Clover configurator RT Variables section, and work...

Can you show me how your E7240 i7-4600U FHD with touch is working?

Can you share your kext, dsdt and ssdt files for me?

I am unable to make mine (graphics work)

What is your device ID for IGP? is it device ID 01a6 revision:000b?

  5. Unfortunately I'm still hung up on the HD4400 hw acceleration.. after some further research it seems we're missing a kext, even though I think our DSDT is patched correctly. Because the vanilla drivers aren't supporting the 4400HD, I wonder how far one could get with this as far as getting graphics hw acceleration. And actually looking at Apple's product line right now, I don't see them supporting it if their base MBA is already Intel 5000. There is the MacBook Pro 13" w/ Intel HD graphics 4000 but it will probably 1) go legacy soon or 2) get upgraded to HD 5000...

Seem I am not alone. My E7240 with "HD4400" was still not yet able to get HW acceleration.

Are there somethings unusual for our hardware?

  6. Upon my further testing, after I remove AppleIntelHD5000 files, i can boot into the system without any problem.

It shows as HD4400 now with 1536MB ram. The screen can scale but no brightness control.

I am unable to open the DVD player app

Upon starting Safari, the screen flickers a lot.

When adobe flash player asked for an update, it always shows errors and restart Safari.

I think the QE/CI is not yet fully enabled.

  7. I wish to update what I have experienced.

When boot with -x into safe mode, I can see the internal display is found as Intel HD Graphics 5000 with 1536MB gram. I can change the resolution and brightness. The device ID is 0a16

When boot with -v only, it won't switch to graphic mode.

If I use clover graphics injectors in the boot menu, for example 0x0a168086, no graphic mode. If I try other string like 0x0a160000, i can boot into graphic mode and login. But the display is now Intel HD Graphics 4400 with 7MB vram, no screen resolution change allowed.

    Could some one help further?

Similar result when I use chameleon boot loader.

  8. Really need help to enable QE/CI for my E7240  i7-4600U HD4400 Full HD touch (devID:0a16:8086).

I am able to have my Sierra Wireless MC7710 work now. Hope to have a really functional ultrabook.

  9. Hi All!

I install Yosemite this method my (7240 i7 FHD Touch)

Clover boot time slow as hell :(

When i boot, see the progressbar after 2-3 sec, but this point mouse is appear, screen have lot of white dots, and still here for 30-40 sec before the login screen appears :(

Also very slow mission control animations, sluggish animations, etc...

I repatched my DSDT, SSDT but same...

I have QE/CI, 1500MB vRam for video, but still sloooow...

Mavericks in another external disk with Chameleon, works like a charm... (need patched mach_kernel for haswell, not released for Yosemite :( )

    Anyone have an idea?

    Thanks!

    rob
