  1. Many thanks. As it is very late here I shall try it tomorrow.
  2. Thanks, I haven't received that e-mail yet but from where do I download EDP 3.1? I cannot see it on the EDP Downloads page and searching the forum yields no results.
  3. You people have been busy! Thank you. I shall give it a try.
  4. I thought EDP 3 was just for Lion.
  5. This seems to work for me installing OSX 10.6 but, the minute I run edp 1.9.2 or try to update to OSX 10.6.5 the whole thing goes belly up and I can't boot without a KP. I've been trying to get a working D630 Hackintosh for a couple of days now without any luck. I didn't have nearly as much trouble with my D620. :$
  6. I'm loving my little D620, OSX 10.6.5 Hackintosh but I really need some help to get sound working. At the moment I have great video playback but no sound. However, if I run edptool I can get sound but that does something that kills the video playback. Does anyone know how I can get sound and video working together? It is a rather important feature after all.
  7. Does anyone know how I should configure Soundflower to give me sound? Whenever I use the edptool I get sound but lose the ability to play video.
  8. I'm struggling with video and OSX 10.6.5 on my D620. I've been trying lots of different configurations all day but I can only get it to play video smoothly without sound or, play video very badly but with sound. Any ideas? I thought I'd solved the sleep problem but it crashes every time I try to wake it up.
  9. I have a 64GB Flash drive so I just used Carbon Copy Cloner to make a disk image of my Hackintosh to that. I have just cracked the sound problem. I installed Soundflower (I use it on my Mac too.), ran a full myFix then rebooted and sound came back. Now all I have to do is to figure out why my Hackintosh won't wake up after sleep.
  10. OK I've backed up and gone through the build process but the same thing has happened as happened before. The trackpad has become almost unusable and I still have no sound. *Update - I've managed to get the trackpad working better but still no sound.
  11. Thanks Bronxteck I've found the edptool. I take it that's what you mean but before I do anything I'm going to make a complete backup first in case I mess things up.
  12. I used EDP 1.9.2 but I have no sound. How does one 'build' it for my model? (Sorry to be dense.)
  13. Would EDP 3 work with OSX 10.6.5? I thought EDP 3 was just for Lion.
  14. Can anyone help me to get the sound working on my D620? I can't get it to wake up after sleep either even after following the advice about a password but I'm not too bothered about that. However, not having any sound rather spoils things.
  15. How dd you get the sound to work? Does anyone know how to get sound working? I can live without the sleep thing but having no sound kind of spoils my little Hackintosh.
  16. Thanks sipart. Sleep - I have tried that fix for the sleep issue but it doesn't work. Upon waking once I enter the password my D620 either crashes or just hangs with the cursor flashing. Sound - The sound fix seems to only be available with EDP 2.1 but that caused me to have trackpad and video playback problems.
  17. I have been playing around with my Hackintosh D620 and I managed to get OSX 10.6.5 installed but I have two issues to resolve. First there is the problem of not waking from sleep and second is having no sound. I have tried EDP 2.1 and that solved the sound issue but it caused some undesirable side effects i.e. the trackpad became almost unusable and video playback became extremely jerky. So, I went back to EDP 1.9.2 which does not have these problems but does have the sleep and sound ones. Is it possible to fix these issues without using EDP 2.1?
  18. Thanks again Syonagar. I'll give it another try a little later and let you know how I get on. Update - Success! I now have Snow Leopard on my Dell and I'm about to apply the Combo update to 10.6.5. Thank you once again for your help. Update 2 - Having trouble with the update. It doesn't want to play with the Combo update.
  19. Thank you. I cannot believe you are being so helpful. I picked up three Dell Latitude D620 laptops cheaply and I want to make at least one of them into a Hackintosh. I think that they are all the same with the standard Intel 945GM Graphics, 14" Wide XGA, 1280 x 800 screen. I normally use Macs but I do not like the way OSX is going. It is becoming far too much like iOS and we are losing our freedom to do as we wish with our Macs because of this. OSX 10.6.5 was the last Mac OS to be free from all the commercial rubbish that Apple are trying to force down our throats so that's why I want to install that on a Hackintosh. Annoyingly Apple have fixed it so that I cannot install 10.6.5 on my Mac!
  20. Snow Leopard. I don't want to go beyond OSX 10.6.5 to avoid the MacStore rubbish that Apple have introduced.
  21. Thanks again Syonagar. Thank makes things a lot clearer but I still cannot find the bootpack. When I look in at the Installation / Downloads all I can see are three bootpacks and none are for Leopard - Dell-D430-lion.zip 1.55 MB 18.05.12 18:10:01 Dell-D520-lion.zip 1.55 MB 18.05.12 18:10:02 Dell-D530-lion.zip 1.58 MB 18.05.12 18:10:02
  22. Thanks Syonagar but I am afraid that I can't get that far. I cannot get Leopard to install at all without crashing or freezing in the process. Howto: 1. Re-partition your usb pen as GUID and Mac OS file system - No problem with that. 2. Restore the orginal OSX SL 10.6.0 image to the pen using Disk Utility’s restore function - No problem here either. 3. Install the bootloader (attached to post) onto the usb pen – You can download it from below. (Remember to select correct destination) - I cannot find a bootloader on this page. Where is it? I can see Bootpacks (Are these what you mean?) but they all seem to be for Lion not Leopard. 4. Extra the extra.zip to the root of the USB drive (attached to post) - Where do I find this extra.zip? I have tried all of the EDP Packs but none of them get me any further forward. 5. Boot and install - I wish I could!. I have also tried myHack and tried all the 'extras' with it but still no joy and I'm tearing my hair out a wee bit now!
  23. http://www.osxlatitude.com/creating-a-usb-pen-with-osx-installation/ I am following the above instructions but I get stuck at the bootloader part. I can only find bootloaders for Lion not Leopard. Where is it?
