  1. Update:

    With latest version double tap  and drag works. But I have to try it slowly. Otherwise it wont work.

    Yes, you need to double tap slowly to drag as I said in my post for v3 else try to edit plist file for SingleTapDrag entry to Yes for getting fast double tap drag but you will get some slow tap click response for this. Even you can use Hold drag which is easier to drag than double tap. Plz go through my thread for all the details so you can understand everything.

  2. Hello. I'm new to this forum, so please...if I do something completely wrong, forgive me :D

    I have an Acer Aspire 5750g with Elan touchpad.

    When I follow your install notes, my keyboard and touchpad stop functioning.

    I delete Apple PS2 Controller, AppleACPIPS2Nub, ApplePS2 Keyboard from System\Library\Extensions, then I install the kexts with kext utility and restart.

    After restarting, the keyboard and touchpad are not working.

    What am I doing wrong?

    In Windows 7 it says it's an Elan touchpad, and I can use an Elan touchpad kext, which I found with this Install notes :

    Here's the Elan touchpad kext that IS working : http://www41.zippyshare.com/v/34150293/file.html

    It sees as a Touchpad inside Lion, I can use two finger scrolling, but I would love to have the gestures described in the first post.

    You need to delete other kexts like VoodooPS2 if you are using it before, and also my old ElanTouchpad kexts then reinstall with kext utility. If you still have issues then send me your system log after boot from Console app.
  3. Hi Team. The Touch pad is the only thing left to fix on my Dell Precision M4600.

    I installed the ElanTouchpad 2.1.3 according to the instructions provided but no results on the Touch Pad.

    I am missing a configurations Step?

    Thanks for the Great Work.

    ML 10.8.2 Running on

    Dell Precision M4600

    4 G Ram

    329 HDD

    Nvidia Graphics

    Intel Ethernet

    Intel Wireless Chip replace with Dell Wireless 1510 BCM

    Do you have Elan touchpad in your notebook? My driver is only for Elan touchpad of v3 and v4 hardware.

  4. Where is intertia scrolling feature? (V4 - Asus Zenbook)

    Inertial scrolling doesn't work with this kext. (Works fine with my touch enabled mouse (Logitech T400))

    Sorry I did not implement that feature in my driver yet. I'll take a look at in future release for now its not there in my driver.  If you are asking about two finger scrolling which is also related with it then for this to work you have to change Scrolling speed at Trackpad settings once after installing my kext.

  5. Hi, this is what i get with the command "cat /proc/bus/input/devices"

    "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"

    You can check this in the attached file

    You have Synaptics touchpad but my driver is only for Elan. For synaptics, try VoodooPS2Controller driver which has support.

  6. Hello,

    This is an ACPI display backlight driver for Asus notebooks which has native support for brightness control in DSDT. Its based on the ideas of WMI kext from the user hotkoffy from insanelymac, Linux Asus WMI and my own.

    So far its been confirmed to work for the Asus notebooks containing Intel GPU (up to SandyBridge generation) and some models with nvidia GPU. Unsupported notebooks can try the driver ACPIBacklight using needed PNLF patch (google it).

    Its been tested in the following models:

    Asus K53SC/D/V

    Asus K53E
    Asus N53SV/N73SV
    Asus K73SV

    Asus G750JS/JX/JH

    Asus G50JX
    Asus Eee Pc 1201n

    Following dsdt patch is needed for my driver to work: (If you have applied GFX0->IGPU patch then rename same below)

    Copy this code to the root of the DSDT (or) use the attached patches in DSDT editor or MaciASL.

    NOTE:

    Some systems need STBR() method absolute path like \_SB.PCI0.LPCB.EC0.STBR(), so search for the method STBR in DSDT and correct the path from where you found in the below patch. Mostly two things (LPCB -> SBRG in old systems and EC0 -> can be EC or H_EC) will be different, so correct these in your absolute path of STBR method.

    Also some systems may need custom patches and it may not work with below patch.
    Device (PNLF)
            {
                Name (_HID, EisaId ("APP0002"))
                Name (_CID, "backlight")
                Name (_UID, 0x0E)
                Name (_STA, 0x0B)
                Method (_BCL, 0, NotSerialized)
                {
                    Return (\_SB.PCI0.GFX0.LCDD._BCL ())
                }
                Method (_BCM, 1, NotSerialized)
                {
                    Store (One, \_SB.PCI0.GFX0.BCMD)
                    Store (\_SB.PCI0.GFX0.GCBL (Arg0), Local0)
                    Subtract (0x0A, Local0, LBTN)
                    STBR () // \_SB.PCI0.LPCB.EC0.STBR()
                }
                Method (_BQC, 0, NotSerialized)
                {
                    Return (\_SB.PCI0.GFX0.LCDD._BQC ())
                }
                Method (_DOS, 1, NotSerialized)
                {
                    \_SB.PCI0.GFX0._DOS (Arg0)
                }
            }

    Brightness value at boot:
    You can set brightness value at boot by editing the entry "BrightnessAtBoot" at "IOKitPersonalities->AsusACPIBacklightPanel" in the info.plist file located at "AsusACPIBacklightPanel.kext/Contents/Info.plist".

          -> Values allowed are 0 - 11/16 (Some models support only 11, but some can up to 16 like models with Nvidia)

               Set the value to 0 if you want brightness value to be read form NVRAM.

    Supports Mac OS X 10.7 or later

  10. Hey

    When I boot from USB's bootloader (unifail) my keyboard (not trackpad) works, once I installed the kexts in v3 (Acer V3-571G-6602) and boot from SSD, neither usb mouse, keyboard, or trackpad work. I'm downloading V4 now to try it.

    I can dump a list of all of my kexts tommorow, and possibly add you on Skype if you are okay with that.

    Thank you :)

    Ok, PM me your skype id and lets discuss your issue.

  11. Yes, I'm 99% sure that my k55vm have an elantech v4 smartpad. Your driver don't make run my touch pad as a mouse. I've try much drivers without success. This is the download page of my notebook.

    http://www.asus.es/Notebooks/Versatile_Performance/K55VM/#download

    Did you remove all the kexts I mentioned in the post? Can you send me your system log and you can see the entries of Elan in that log if its loading.

  12. Hi! I've an asus K55VM with elantech V4. I've installed a lot of appleps2controllers, appleacpips2nub, voodoops2, ... without success, including this beta. Trackpad is the unique that don't run in my asus. I'd settle for that will only work the mouse, but had no gestures. Anyone know what I have to do?

    Are you sure you have Elan touchpad? is my driver enabling at least your touchpad as mouse?

  13. EMlyDinEsH, I'm not too sure if this would help but I've seen the Windows 8 ELAN touchpad driver which works flawless in Windows.

    It's ELAN Touchpad Version 14.1.3 which can be downloaded here: http://www.station-drivers.com/page/elantech.htm

    I was hoping that you may be able to take some of the 'source code' and apply to ELAN kext which you have been creating.

    Its a binary file so its useless.
