Moderators Jake Lo Posted April 11, 2018 Moderators Share Posted April 11, 2018 As I mentioned earlier, your system is different than Hervé's system. His has eGPU but disabled through DSDT patching. Your system only has HD4600, so can't use the patched DSDT from his bootpack nor mine as it's based on his files as well.
michaelo1981
Jake. Everything works fine up until it says on his guide to copy the kexts to /library/extensions and /system/library/extensions then repairing and rebuilding kext caches. After that is when the computer freezes at the apple screen on reboot
michaelo1981
I can boot into OS X right up until the kext copying step
Moderators Jake Lo Posted April 11, 2018 Moderators Share Posted April 11, 2018 Ok, from Hervé's guide, you only copy patched AppleHDA.kext to /S/L/E, the rest from /E/E goes to /L/E Repair permission and rebuild cache. Last thing you need is to set KernelBooter_kexts to No in /Extra/kernel.plist Can you confirm those steps?
michaelo1981
Yes I did that exactly step by step. Even tried with kext wizard. Before I do the copying it boots into OS X fine from hard drive. After I do those steps the booting freezes half way on the apple progres bar. I even did the Applehda file separately to see if that was causing it. It still booted after I did just that file so something going into library extensions is causing this
Moderators Jake Lo Posted April 11, 2018 Moderators Share Posted April 11, 2018 KextWizard only installs to /S/L/E Try booting with -v -f
michaelo1981
I tried that. It seems to load fine then it shows the apple logo and no progress on the progress bar
michaelo1981
I’ve reinstalled it about four times so far with the same issues happening.
michaelo1981
Yep it’s something in the kext files going into library/extensions. Keeps freezing.
