Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 29, 2018 Moderators Share Posted October 29, 2018 Try either removing from boot -arg abm_firstpolldelay=16000 or increase it to abm_firstpolldelay=20000
acquarius.13
I will try removing it because battery % is not updating at all with abm_firstpolldelay=20000. Automatic sleep is not working too. I tried disabling power nap in system preferences-->AC adapter but usually the system doesn't "register" this modification and, at each reboot, I usually have to enable/disable power nap in order to have automatic sleep working again
acquarius.13
I tried to remove abm_firstpolldelay=20000 and now I have battery % updating in real time but not coherent with real % (as usual, system preferences battery overestimates the real %). Automatic sleep doesn't work, apart switching on/off power nap on system preferences.
acquarius.13
Maybe I missed a thing: I did not copy DisableTurboBoostBattery.kext into /L/E, since a couple of days ago I removed it. Could be that the cause of these small issues?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 29, 2018 Moderators Share Posted October 29, 2018 Will it sleep with LID close? Will it sleep when you click on Apple Menu and select sleep? For Battery, you could try switching FakeSMC + ACPIBatteryManager with VirtualSMC + SMCBatteryManager FYI, keep a bootable USB drive near by incase it won't boot with the new kexts
acquarius.13
Yes, it sleeps when I close the LID. Yes, it sleeps when I select apple menu and sleep option. I will try the new SMC kexts for the battery and I will let you know. Many thanks again Jake
acquarius.13
Hi Jake, VirtualSMC + SMCBatteryManager do work on my system, but battery % doesn't update properly (usual mismatch between system preferences battery and HWMonitor/iStat Pro/Coconut battery). abm_firstpolldelay=16000 doesn't work too. I will try to increase it 20000 and see what happen. I saw in Clover/kexts/Other that there is AppleBacklightFixup.kext: should I remove AppleBacklightInjector.kext from L/E, even if you disabled from KextsToPatch in clover configurator? Thanks a lot again Jake
acquarius.13
abm_firstpolldelay=20000 doesn't change anything about battery %
viking1304
AppleBacklightFixup.kext and AppleBacklightInjector.kext are very similar. Difference is that AppleBacklightInjector.kext requires additional patch in config (change F%uT%04x to F%uTxxxx). AppleBacklightFixup.kext doesn't require that patch. You need only one of those. acquarius.13
So I will remove AppleBacklightInjector.kext and the related patch using clover configurator. What about battery %? Should I use Inject kexts = yes instead of Detect in order to have proper battery %? This is, of course, a minor issue. Have a nice day guys
