Dell E7440 Screen Resolution/ Garbled 1920x1080

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I am currently having a problem with the latitude e7440 with screen resolution and was the same on high Sierra with this machine. When trying to use 1920x1080 the screen is garbled up and restart and was glitched in high Sierra but have not heard of this issue with others who have the e7440. I wanted to know if someone get help me get the resolution of 1920x1080 working and how to stop getting garbled up screen with usb installer and on startup(already tried enabling legacy rom option on and off-both resulted in garbled usb installers and screens)

Looks like your'e using my hot patched bootpack but not following my install guide.

In /EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI, remove everything except the following:

Drivers64UEFI\FSInject-64

Drivers64UEFI\SMCHelper-64

Drivers64UEFI\ApfsDriverLoader-64

Drivers64UEFI\AptioMemoryFix-64

Drivers64UEFI\PartitionDxe-64

Drivers64UEFI\HFSPlus

I have followed those directions. Upon doing so, I tried booting from the usb and the screen went black on 3 attempts, after disabling legacy roms, it boots to a garbled up screen.

Enable Legacy Option ROMs.

Enable verbose mode during boot

Just tested the same files, no issue.

Try Loading Default in BIOS, apply, and then set the settings again

UEFI

Enable Legacy Option ROMs

AHCI

Secure Boot Off

Any update if you are still having that issue BrianyBoy? I have that issue too but with a specific type of e7440. I have a touchscreen e7440 and it does that weird screen glitch. But for my other e7440 it is fine only for bluetooth that doesn't. So I wanted to go back home and try what Jake Lo last posted and see if it's gonna work.
