Administrators Hervé Posted February 18, 2019 Administrators Share Posted February 18, 2019 If it's a USB-internal model (as I expect), check that all you USB ports are enabled.
punjabigator
Thanks Herve. I looked in the extensions and USB-port limit is not loaded from LE I removed it from LE and placed a Rehabs USBINJECTALL in the Others folder. Seems like its still not loading the kext. Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 19, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 19, 2019 remove the usbinjectall and replace with USBPorts.kext from my bootpack here
punjabigator
Jake, I was able to fix it by downloading the USBALLKEXT from Rehabman and installed it under LE. Then I used FBpather to discover the USBports using USB2 and USB3 devices. The USBALLKEXT was able to detect camera. I deleted unused ports and saved the kext using FBpatcher. The USBketxt was installed in LE. The bootpack USB kext did not work. Now I can see see camera and USB 3 devices as well. Thanks for your help. punjabigator
here is the USB kext, however, I recommend to build your own by using the directions at this LINK to LILU and Plugins USBPorts.kext.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 20, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2019 Right, you are using MBP6,2 rather than MBP11,1. That's why my USBPorts.kext didn't work for you.
punjabigator
Jake and Herve, what are the advantages using MBP11,1 over MBP6,2. I have used the later for years. Thank you for sharing your insight.
Administrators Hervé Posted February 21, 2019 Administrators Share Posted February 21, 2019 In my particular experience with MBP11,1 vs. MBA6,2 1) it's closer to the Dell E6x40/E7x40 in terms of specs 2) I obtained better CPU power management (more multiplier steps) on a non-U CPU Now, if you want to compare: MacBookPro11,1 MacBookAir6,
