[SOLVED] ASUS R556L - Sleep only turns off the screen

Recommended Posts

As i can see from your "kextcache_log.txt" you have that "IntelGraphicsFixup.kext" still in the kext-cache. Remove that KEXT from from /L/E and type/copy the following in terminal:

sudo chmod -Rf 755 /S*/L*/E*

sudo chmod -Rf 755 /L*/E*

sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /S*/L*/E*

sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /L*/E*

sudo kextcache -i /

Reboot and check if your problem is solved. :)

Perhaps you were looking at the original debug archive, I've uploaded a new one a few posts back. I just checked and there's no IntelGraphicsFixup.kext in the cache :)

Could you post a actual debug ? :) There is only the one in the first post on this thread.

Sorry... i've found the second one. ;)

Umm... i do not see the "SSDT-PNLF.aml" required for "AppleBacklightFixup.kext" in your "/CLOVER/ACPI/patched" folder...

Try a fresh download from here.

Put the kext into /C/K/other and the *.aml in /C/A/patched.

Maybe this should finally solve your problem. :)

Unfortunately, no luck either :( I've read about similar problems happening with Skylake processors but it's Broadwell in my case.

Try and wait something like 5mins after you wake the laptop. I had a similar issue on my E6440 and it was due to the number of ports in the Azul framebuffer and their re-initialisation on wake or something like that. Initially, the laptop would wait to a black screen which would only lit after several (long) minutes.

I actually left it for an hour earlier today to see if anything happens but it was still dark after that time :(
