eC//FrEaK
Hi there. After some weeks of using my "MacBook E5540" i think it's time to max out the performance of my system (mostly battery life)... Unfortunately i do not know how i can do this and succeed at 100% ... So, is there any person who may check my "debug" for stupid/bad/unnecessary configuration? I'm very interested in the "ACPI" part of my "config.plist" Thx in advance to everyone who is digging/crawling through config. debug_29750.zip
Administrators Hervé Posted August 27, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 27, 2019 Looking good overall. I would just say that if you're dropping SSDT CpuPm + SSDT CpuI0st and injecting the CPU PM ssdt table, then you should not have PluginType parameter checked. It's either or. But that should not impact battery life in any way. I did not see anything relating to a dGPU so I can only presume there is none and your config is optimum as far as CPU power management and battery life is concerned.
eC//FrEaK
@Hervé Yep, there is no dGPU built into that system. I'll try to disable "PluginType", and see what happens. EDIT: Another question... Is it necessary to inject the graphics card? Or ist ok to let Clover + WEG do the work automatically?
Administrators Hervé Posted August 28, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2019 No need to specify "inject Intel" + layout-id in the Graphics section of your Clover when you run with recent/latest Lilu + WEG kexts.
WhenMusicAttacks
Hello, writing from my 5540, a good way to increase the performance a bit are undervolt with voltageshift - sudo chown -R root:wheel VoltageShift.kext - my settings are " ./voltageshift offset -80 -80 -80 " but you should start maybe with -50 -50 -50 and then drop a bit after each day of use to check stability - https://github.com/sicreative/VoltageShift disable Apple services in background - https://gist.github.com/pwnsdx/d87b034c4c0210b988040ad2f85a68d3
