Dell Latitude E5270: OpenCore First Boot Failure macOS Catalina

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone and happy new year. I'm totally new to Hackintosh and on this forum ( please feel free to correct if you find any mistake ) .

I read dortania guide and build some installer USB. I have Dell Latitude E5270 with current specs:

Chipset   : 6th Generation IntelCore

CPU         : Intel Core i7-6600U Processor

Graphics : Intel Integrated HD Graphics 520

Display    : 12" FHD 1920x1080 Touch Screen

RAM        : 8GB 2133MHz DDR4

Storage   : Kingston SA2000M8 NVME SSD

LAN         : Ethernet Connection I219-LM

Wifi          : Intel Corporation Wireless 8260

Audio       : Realtek ALC3235

When I boot into installer and select Catalina installer. It's printing some logs and then reboots.

I looked in logs and found this:

14:643 00:049 OCB: Showing menu...

I think it's kernel panic, but don't know what the is reason and how to fix this.

It would be nice if someone looks at my files.

This EFI folder with opencore and all other logs in init (code is from last log).

1) I found this guid but don't know how to boot in recovery means for opencore

https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/troubleshooting/extended/kernel-issues.html#stuck-on-eb-ld-ofs-err-0xe-when-booting-preboot-volume

2) I tryed your E7270 opencore for bigsur but usb boot stuck on "root via boot"597500885_2021-01-0313_35_38.thumb.jpg.a1b344deb68ce56e7f5046f3a9648f3c.jpg

I don't know the exact reason for this, but it could be one I have Catalina USB,

and second, my laptop motherboard is different than yours.

One of those two may be a problem.

Hello everybody, I'm a newby to Hackintosh on laptops and on this forum and I've to say I arrived in the right place and have been very lucky to read this thread. In fact, after a couple of days with a lot of troubles trying to setup OC to work with Big Sur on my Dell E5270, a miracle has happened.

My Latitude E5270 has the following specifications:

Chipset   : 6th Generation IntelCore

CPU         : Intel Core i5-6300U Processor

Graphics : Intel Integrated HD Graphics 520

Display    : 12" HD 1366x768

RAM        : 8GB 2133MHz DDR4

Storage   : Crucial MX500 M.2 SSD 500 GB

LAN         : Ethernet Connection I219-LM

Wifi          : Intel Corporation Wireless 8260

Audio       : Realtek ALC3235

I was not able to reach the USB installer due to a lot of errors related to DSDT and other ACPI tables, so I was thinking to give up. Too complicated enigma to solve for me.

But I made a last desperate attempt with the EFI folder suggested by Jake Lo and this is the miracle: Big Sur installed and easily accessible!!🤩😀

Made some refining on SMBIOS and booting options, but the system now is at an acceptable starting point:

What works:

Ethernet

Bluetooth

Audio

Keyboard

Trackpad

Monitor

Camera

What doesn't work

Bluetooth mouse (maybe incompatible device Tecknet I used with W10)

Power (Have a lot of monitor standby disconnections during usage, battery not recognized)

WiFi (not configurable at all, in spite the button is on in the status bar)

Video output (VGA and HDMI ports not working or bad working)

In any case I wish to thank a lot Jake Lo, a real top guru. In the meantime I'll try to fix the remaining troubles, but further tips and tricks are welcome 😉

bye

@rommy

If you're using AirportItlwm.kext, you won't be able to connect to Hidden network. Use Itlwm.kext + Heliport.app instead

What issue are you having with HDMI? Be more specific, post IOReg file with IORegistryExplorer.app while HDMI is connected

Don't know if VGA is supported anymore. As for battery status, did you try enabling it from preferences?

@AppleCross

Rommy was able to boot and install with the files I attached 3-4 posts up...did you try it?
