Sonoma possible on E7440?

Thanks to @Jake Lo's excellent post below, I am able to run Monterey flawlessly on my E7440.

 

 

I was wondering if anyone has managed to get Sonoma running on their machine?

For Sonoma, it's exactly the same as for Ventura which dropped official support for Haswell platforms; as such, no native support for Haswell graphics HD4400/4600. In addition, Sonoma dropped support for legacy Broadcom wireless cards. See our previous communications on these matters. I would expect there are existing threads about installing/running Ventura and/or Sonoma on Haswell laptops, whether Dell or otherwise.

OCLP brings everything back to life: graphics acceleration and wireless (provided you have the required card).

Is there a guide for OCLP anywhere? I have downloaded it but I find it confusing as to how to use it.

 

For example, do I target the installer for the host system even though it's a Hackintosh already, or do I use the MacbookPro11,4 definition that my Hackintosh is using etc?

 

Do I apply the patches before I install, or after?

There is substantial documentation on the Dortania site. Failing that, you may opt for a Clover classic installation on which you'll apply OCLP patching; that's what I do with my unsupported laptops.

I managed to get Ventura up and running, and used OCLP to patch the graphics.

 

I swapped out my intel wifi for a broadcom card like 6 /7 years ago so that's working pretty much out of the box fine.

Hello, if i update JakeLo original EFIs using 1.0.2 opencore. i get stuck at [EB|LOG:EXITBS:START]

That is Default 0.8.4 boots Monterey fine, just wanted to use OpencoreConfigurator to edit the config
