Administrators Hervé Posted June 25, 2013 Administrators Share Posted June 25, 2013 We've got an open list of supported/unsupported cards & dongles in R&D -> Network section: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2120-wireless-cards-inventory/ I'd also invite you to consult the wiki pages of InsanelyMac that covers supported HW components per OS X version quite well. Of course, this is only as good as contributors make it, but we do try and contribute there too! http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page There's a substantial list for 10.8.2: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.8.2#Wireless In all cases, I can only recommend to check the chip manufacturer's site and check for OS X support. There aren't that many: Broadcom, Atheros, Ralink are the main ones... For instance, if you're looking at Ralink-based card or dongles, look here: http://www.mediatek.com/_en/07_downloads/01_windows.php?sn=502 If you want to look at Realtek, same thing, consult their web site and look up each family of wireless NICs. For instance: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=48&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true Then you can easily do a search on the net for chip # and see what pops up. That should give you some indications of potential cards or dongles. The main conclusion is that you have to do some homework, as always... daspazz
Or order the card in my Sig on my 6520. 13.xx shipped from China is not a bad deal for an Airport card. IT is Mac so it should work no problem. I am using it on all my machine. Just haven't upgraded to Mavericks yet on the 6520 (typing on it now).
Darvinko
Easier, cheaper and quicker for the DW1510, which is a Broadcom card used in a wide variety of Macs, and is a mini, so no rerouting of wires is necessary, comes from local and are available today on eBay (US) at $3.54 + $.99 shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Latitude-2100-Wireless-WLAN-WIFI-Card-PW934-Genuine-Laptop-Tested-/160952442252?pt=US_Internal_Network_Cards&hash=item2579835d8c . Also can be rebranded to be recognized by the system as Airport Extreme.
Oleander2911
I Bought the Asus USB-N13, and actually i found out that there where no drivers for Mountain Lion, i then tried install many different suggestions from people, and nothing worked at least i don't think so, i then plugged in the dvd which came with it, and installed the driver that should work on 10.6 and i restarted and i poped up with the message that a new network device was found. And i just use wireless network utility and connected to my network and finally it worked. so soon i will make a complete guide on how to get the essential stuff to work on the E6230.Everybody thanks for your help! i really appreciate it.
